But you'd better have a LOT of grenades. Find max. damage powerups for them too if you can. Plus you can expect to take a little damage and wounds occassionally from the grenades blowing up too close to you. You can use them on lairs too to get all combat xp, but that takes even more grenades than just killing a mob that gives you the same amount of xp. I just like to throw one at the lair 'cause it's just fun.

Pikeman : The only class that couldn't hit the ground if they dropped their weapon.
Pikeman : Doing massive damage; to the air surrounding our target.
Pikeman : You're dead meat, unless you happen to be standing in front of us.
Pikeman : Because the devs were one profession short.
DEVs : Pikeman? Thats a class?

Eloran's notes:

1) Set a bleed, let it rag on you, use ONE grenade. You only need one. Once it's down at 1 action, it'll be easy. Get buffed.

2) MAX OUT ON COMBAT XP NOW. They're nerfing it Thursday.

OK, so Islogged my way up the Marksman tree (God bless Sharnaffs).

Trained lots of people on the wayto get the necessary apprentiship XP.

At last! This was it! My first profession mastered! Hurrah!

Right, quick, lets look at the skill tree to see what I can learn next....

WHAT!!!! Surely this can't be right..... I now need a gazillion more combat XP points before I can start my new career? Jeez, Talk about disappointed. I almost cancelled my subscription there & then.

I'm seriously wondering if it's worth carrying on with SWG.I want to do the Cries of Alderaan missions but it's going to take me months to getthe higher skills, XP and bigger guns I'll need to tackle them - I barely got off Dathomir in one piece. I didn't even dismount my bike, never mind fire a shotand the bike cost me over9K to repair after that little trip!

So, how do I get my combat XP up quickly? - (I don't consider "by killing stuff" to be a helpful answer!)Naff hunts are beginning to loose their appeal, what / where else should I be heading for?

I'm currently:

Marksman 4-4-4-4

Scout 4-3-4-2

Medic 3-3-2-3

So Nightsister Rancorsare probably out for the time being (actually it'll be a LONG time before I go back to Dathomir - every single damn thing on the planet wanted a piece of me!)

Well I wouldn't jump the ship because one skill needs a lot of XP. IF you lok at BH and Commando from the Marksman tree the boht need a lost of XP for each level also. Once you climb a tree the next is going to get tougher. And I will have to say hunts. Go on hunting parties. You can get high combat xp there. DOn't give up because of a little obstacle.

I actually would hunt on corellia around tyrene until you get carbine 4. As for survival sit in a camp and make camp kits. Reset the camp every 13 minutes or so.

Now for the fun 40k of comabt exp. Its hard to say what the best is because not everone is rich. However with that said for about 125k i think you can do it rather easily. First get a good carbine. I use (8k each)two e11's, one is 30% speed slice and one is 34% damage. next get a good (8k) fwg 5 and get it sliced. Now get some decentubese armor(it was about 100k on starsider)DO NOT SLICE IT. Now get a buff( and buy some brandy because you will need it) and go to dantoine and hunt savage quenkers. max out pistols first just because i find that pistols are easier because the accuracy mods are better. After you get 200k pistol, switch to carbine and get 200k carbine exp. this will equal 40k combat. now you can train in pistols and carbines 1 right off the bat. Now You continue the same thing only buy a llc and get it sliced.Try to go for a speed slide because the damage of a llc is pretty high already, though its not that big of a deal.

Now go up the combat trees. once you are 0444 you can start the investigation tree...whcih will be a **edit** and take a while. however i have noticed that since publich 7 Most bh missions are working. Endor and yavin still seemed a lil bugged though. Hope that helps

I think fragmental grenades give only combat xp, and everyone can use them, so try those

Or, try to get good imperial or rebel faction and trade in faction points for combat xp

I don't think you can trade Combat XP for FP... unless they changed it.
