Greetings,

In introduction, I am a bounty hunter on Corbantis. I have been stalking, hunting, and killing jedi solo since the saber-tef days, BEFORE missions. Player tracking, pattern observations, etc. are all part of my bag of tools. I have racked up a total of 143 solo jedi kills with only 8 losses during hunts. This is because I have done my research into my target's habits and patterns. I HUNT my marks. I try to restrict myself to only hunting bounties OVER 150k if at all possible.

With the upcoming publish changes affecting our mission system, the stalking of a mark will be rather impossible. We will have no names for habit-matching. Droids may be able to provide waypoints, but that hardly gives the information used for hunting MDef's. The name of a mark allows us to pay regular players for intel as to a jedi's patterns. Observation of a mark is key at the higher levels, and the anonymous system is removing that from our tools.

If this system is implemented, I hereby lobby for the removal of the titles "Stalker" and "Assassin" from the bounty hunter skill tree, as we will stop being those things, and simply be waypoint followers who hit players instead of NPC's.

Please lobby to an extreme level to get a name of the mark provided to us at some point during the hunt, or the BH profession will be hampered to a large degree.

AFAIK assassin is a rifleman title and not a BH title. We've got Stalker, Avenger, Desperado and... and... Enforcer?

I would also like to point out that while I agree completely with your reasoning regarding why names are actually needed to stalk someone succesfully, the mission decay system is going to be the biggest hinderance for this type of low-key habit observations.

I realize that the mission decay is including as a mean to effectively kill of the friendly-BH's-holding-my-mission exploits, but still...

I apologize about my Assassin title reference. I simply hunt my makrs. We need the names in order to HUNT, instead of simply following WP's.

I see your point. Maybe it could be done like this: (To prevent spamming around BH-Terms: "I have a mission on xy. Anybody has informations or the same mission so we can group?")

You get the mission, get the Bio, launch your droid, he is on Planet xy

Now, when you arrive at planet xy (doesnt matter if the Jedi left the planet because you know he was there) you can go to a new kind of informant-NPC at the starport and ask for the name.

"Psst, have you seen this guy?"

"Yes, that's xy."

I would like that. And I am not even a BH

I agree. I don't mind doing some pre-hunt info-grind if that's necessary. Heck, I would actually enjoy it a bit. In order to truly hunt someone, you have to get their name at some point during the endeavor. With just a name, and a little research, you don't even need to use droids. A name gets you a guild, a guild gives you a city, and usually a standard area that the person frequents. Once you have those things...pay a friendly neighborhood ranger 50k to area track for you and it's pretty much up to you to set up an ambush.

As a player who plays TWO jedi characters, and as a BH, I think the removal of names from the terminals is a good thing. However, there NEEDS to be a point during the hunt at which we can get a name, instead of simply doing /targetBounty. A player hunting a powers jedi will approach the engagement different than a saber-defender. Intel and prep is key...removing the names completely will hamper this.

It is kind of silly that you guys don't get the name at all until you get to the mark. You should at least get the name when you launch a seeker. Reasoning is the seeker actually seeks out the person and finds the person. Arakid's just find the bio sig on a planet. So it'sa more broad ranged scan.

I applaud the OP's effort to make his profession into an art.

I'm glad you can appreciate the work I go through for my kills. I hope that our correspondent can convice SOE to adapt the system to allow for names at some point during the hunt.

LOL...glad to hear there are other people out there who want to actually hunt the marks instead of simply following WP's and shooting wimpy jedi.Let's hope Tanks gets SOE to fix the name issue so we can continue to stalk our marks for intel. (no...I don't have a solution...but making the solution isn't what I'm paid to do.)

The main reason you will not get the names of the target is because as soon as you find out the marks name you will do /tell to a network of other bh and will form a gank squad with other bh that might have that mission. plain and simple. the devs know this from unproffesional bh before that were greifing, credit cheating with buddies, and gank squads on low level paddies. Just because you know the name doesnt mean you will go attack right away. You will wait till you get others that might have the same mission. After the post c.u. alot of unscrupulous bh showed their true colors along with a ton of respec bh that used the alloted respecs to change to bh to kill other players. It is the behavior of non proffesional bh that have got you in this publish 20 mess. You cant blame anyone else.

proffessional killers don't do things that tend to shorten there life. they gang up, and make the fight as unfair as possible.

ask any infantryman what his NCO would say if he didn't fire on an enemy becuase there were 5 of him, and only one of the enemy.....

Proffessionals do gang up on people, and never make confrotations fair. What is th SOP for police when a suspect is armed/makeing threatoning behavoir? It's call for backup.1 vs 1 a bh is supposed to lose. that's the way jedi were set up.

becuase of this, BH gotta be ruthless, and uncaring.
