Thread: Polite request for correspondent comment on Stalking
I agree. I don't mind doing some pre-hunt info-grind if that's necessary. Heck, I would actually enjoy it a bit. In order to truly hunt someone, you have to get their name at some point during the endeavor. With just a name, and a little research, you don't even need to use droids. A name gets you a guild, a guild gives you a city, and usually a standard area that the person frequents. Once you have those things...pay a friendly neighborhood ranger 50k to area track for you and it's pretty much up to you to set up an ambush.
As a player who plays TWO jedi characters, and as a BH, I think the removal of names from the terminals is a good thing. However, there NEEDS to be a point during the hunt at which we can get a name, instead of simply doing /targetBounty. A player hunting a powers jedi will approach the engagement different than a saber-defender. Intel and prep is key...removing the names completely will hamper this.
It is kind of silly that you guys don't get the name at all until you get to the mark. You should at least get the name when you launch a seeker. Reasoning is the seeker actually seeks out the person and finds the person. Arakid's just find the bio sig on a planet. So it'sa more broad ranged scan.
I applaud the OP's effort to make his profession into an art.

I'm glad you can appreciate the work I go through for my kills. I hope that our correspondent can convice SOE to adapt the system to allow for names at some point during the hunt.

LOL...glad to hear there are other people out there who want to actually hunt the marks instead of simply following WP's and shooting wimpy jedi.Let's hope Tanks gets SOE to fix the name issue so we can continue to stalk our marks for intel. (no...I don't have a solution...but making the solution isn't what I'm paid to do.)

The main reason you will not get the names of the target is because as soon as you find out the marks name you will do /tell to a network of other bh and will form a gank squad with other bh that might have that mission. plain and simple. the devs know this from unproffesional bh before that were greifing, credit cheating with buddies, and gank squads on low level paddies. Just because you know the name doesnt mean you will go attack right away. You will wait till you get others that might have the same mission. After the post c.u. alot of unscrupulous bh showed their true colors along with a ton of respec bh that used the alloted respecs to change to bh to kill other players. It is the behavior of non proffesional bh that have got you in this publish 20 mess. You cant blame anyone else.
