Thread: Warping
Yep I posted about the mob warping thing a few days ago, sadly it got lost in the sea of posts with people whining about CH.
Make sure you /bug the mobs warping thing, you think it's bad on corellia/talus, wait till it happens to youon dathomir/endor/Dantooine. Stupid evil ewoks and their DB'ing you before you even hit the ground grrr.
Blah!
Ok, try this again ![]()
Is it me or is warping getting worse, it has to be one of the most annoying bugs of late for me as a rifleman where prone is a must.

I know there are other issues to deal with, but shouldnt the most important issue for rifleman be fixed.
Warping while prone is getting to be a real PAIN IN MY ASS.
FIX THIS PROBLEM ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
will this issue require a full game rewrite or somthing.
So yesterday Im prone, handling a pack of savage humbaas nicely, when all of the sudden I warp right underneath their trampling feet, for them to easily destroy me. Its bad enough /takecover is broken (Ive learned to deal with it) but not being able to go prone is crippling me...
IMO this should be dealt with before patches that let you bypass the logo screens.
I mean really, **edit**?!?!?!?
This stupid thing happens to me all the time also.
Frequently when im tending to a harvester a group of desert demons spawns nearby, next thing i know the brawler type has warped right on top of me and kills me (because I'm carrying a spraystick).
This combined with the 2.5x melee penalty IS REALLY STUPID.
Fight a krayt dragon sometime, they don't walk anywhere they just warp from one place to another. They said that if the creature doesn't have clear sight to you that it will warp, this is however untrue. Honestly anyone that wants to see warping at its best run out to the graveyard. If the dragon gets it in its mind that your the next one to die, it warps on you and your dead, doesn't matter how many pets are attacking it, nothing, cause the pets just warp with it, its great. No wonder they are legendary animals, they can warp at will. Warp in deal 7k of damage warp out, its all good.

Teleporting MOBS: When a MOB agro's you, even if he has a clear line of sight to you, he simply disappears from his current location and re-appears right on top of you. This has to do with AI pathing.
Warping While Prone: When you have targetted a MOB, you go prone, and almost imediately afterwards you either "slide" or suddenly re-appear farther away from the MOB. This is when YOU warp, not the MOB in question.
Teleporting MOBs is believed to be caused by a "fix" in the AI that prevented MOBs from being stuck on rocks and buildings. So, basically, that Fambaa can no longer get stuck on the edge of a building. Mostly because he's currently lodged up my [insert body part here].
Warping While Prone is something different. No cause is definite yet. But the popular theory (and one that I have observed) is that when you go prone, you warp back to the coordinates at which you ORIGINALLY TARGETTED THE MOB. I find this to be pretty close to accurate, and I find that if I un-target a MOB and then re-target it, I have not yet warped once after going prone. Although it may just be an isolated incident.
Sadly, these two problems hurt Riflemen the most because Teleporting MOBs do 250% Melee Damage to us, and no other combat class has such sorry-*** accuracy that they have to go prone to hit their marks.
