Thread: Simple solution to BH v Jedi issues
Well, i agree with you on most things but one thing that stuck out was: Jedi lose xp in PvP? That means there would be no pvp.. that was the problem back when you did lose xp and you didnt see 1 jedi ![]()

Make both lose exp for a PvP death but Jedi lose an equally higher amount to their strength difference. In my example here it would be 1.5x more exp lost by Jedi than a MBH. To justify the MBH using all of their skill points give back the MBH state controls we ORIGINALLY had. Not this insult we have now. I think if SOE did this the other things they are doing in Nerf 20 wouldn't be so bad. I personally like the concept of BH and smugglers on the terminals, if handled correctly. Under the current game, there is no way that BH or MBH with uber templates stand much chance vs a full temp Jedi. Don't kid yourselves. This game can still be made fun for everyone who plays it but when the Jedi get every advantage it really takes away from a major aspect of the game. Again, don't kid yourself. Any advantage the BH has or had, ever, pales in comparison to the overall advantages the alpha class called Jedi have.
People need to remember that this game is still set in the era right after Episode 4. Until SOE says different that's what we have here. People seem to forget that during this period Jedi were so afraid to move around that the two most powerful "light" Jedi hid like cowards. Yoda and Ben went so far into hiding that Vader couldn't even feel or sence where they were. If you rewatch Episode 4, you'll clearly see that Ben was so afraid to be made as a Jedi that he even hid both Anakin's old saber and his own saber in a safety box! During the game we have now, Jedi run free, branish sabers everywhere and have absolutly zero fear of being killed or even attacked much if they're a full template.
Something needs done...bottom line.
Let's face it, unless you only hunt 60k paddies to 125k ones you are going to day frequently and XP loss at that level will be difficult. I know that I personally will not regrind Invest XP to reach MBH every time I day on the first mission after regrinding it all.

The problem I see with the red box is that if a MBH loses XP, it would first have to be lost from the MBH box, which means that they will no longer be able to hunt Jedi if MBH is required to hunt Jedi. So essentially, everyone will stop wanting to be Bounty Hunters.

XP loss make no sense for a BH or MBH since the Jedi grind is much more difficult (excluding Investigation).
Jedi get 25% ofthe xp gain as BH's per kill, yetJedi lose 1.5 times more xp upon death. I like the idea of making risk on both sides, but lets make ita little more reasonable. The day Jedi and BH are punished equally willbethe day the friction between our two beloved profs will decrease. On the right track, but not quite there yet.

If I'm reading this correct, this is again a one way street for BH. Nothing happens to a BH, but nail the Jedi to the cross. PvP needs to be more equal than this...

Of course this is all moot point since I'm assuming once FRS is implemented again it will once again put Jedi Knights perma overt, which I agree would make this extremely unfair and not viable.

Erm...no. A MBH already HAS all the exp they need for their template. What does exp loss do to them again? Nothing. They're already going to have to be MBH when they hunt a Jedi, AND since they initiate the encounter, it happens only when they want it to. Why on earth would they then take a bounty before they were ready? Of course now they can't, because they have already finished their template which means...no need for exp.
Jedi on the other hand encounter BH's before their template is complete, so the exp loss hurts them.
Hrm....hurts Jedi. Doesn't hurt BH. Doesn't sound very different from what we have now, except you want additional power added to the MBH. Where's the fun in this for "everyone" supposed to be again?
The only simple solution to BH v Jedi issues is to remove Jedi from the BH terminals completely.
OR
Remove exp loss. Since Jedi's names aren't on the terms, there's no need for the anti-farming mechanism that xp loss to a BH is.
