Alright, so far I am trying to come up with a new template to complement my weaponsmith friend. I am in a PvPing guild and want to be good in PvP, want to hunt Jedi some (not hardcore) and I want to be and maybe make some money off Smuggler.
Is Master Smuggler, MBH, Pistols 0004 a viable template? The way I see it, I get decent skill mods, plus all the amazing smuggler skills, plus stopping shot, plus the MBH skills?
The only downside I see is a 35 meter range (coming from a carbineer/mbh standpoint). Any tips?

get some general ranged accuracy and speed tapes, then pistol accuracy and speed tapes
you will need them not being a master weapon prof
if you find the range to be too limiting, you might try one or both of the ranged cybernetic arms.

They are hard enough to kill for my Master Carbineer/MBH atm. I mainly just want to be able to hunt Jedi, I don't want to do it a lot.

I dropped Master Smuggler for Master Combat Medic and the difference was astounding....it is also alot of fun to play an MCM, there is a certain visceral joy in seeing your enemy burst into flames as he chcokes on poison.

I agree, I was a diehard smuggler since release. I finally bit the bullet after the CU though and dropped it, becauseI would get my ass handed to me on a regular basis. Maybe I just sucked, but now that I have CM, I seem to be able hold my own. Smuggler is a great profession, But IMO it doesn't quite have the edge it needs to beat up a jedi.

I am a master BH/ Master Smuggler and I will tell you that you will not be a full template jedi, u dont have the range or the speed, or even the damage.

i've really tried to stick it out as mbh/msmuggler since the CU ... and its just not working out as well as i'd hoped.
it's not the 35m that hurts, its the DPS - smuggler just doesn't give enough acc/speed mods to keep up with other professions.
im currently grinding out of smuggler/pistols0104 ... ill miss being a smuggler :/
since i've already got 25+ in tapes to pistol acc and speed, ill be picking up mbh/mpistols/cm4000. i expect the higher dps/pistol defense and healing ability to help out A LOT.

Guildie of mine was an MBH/MSmuggler/0004 Pistoleer up until a few days ago, when he dumped the pistoleer bit for bits of medic. With BE clothing and a tape, he has a lot of Healing effeciency.
He likes it. He made the switch to simplify killing the new boss marks, and it is much simpler, and he's repeatedly declared his love for his new template. I'm inclined to agree myself; A well-rounded template has to include better healing than stims, even if it means sacrificing offense, defense and crowd control abilities.

Pistol vs jedi no works. Carabine or rifle, if you can loot weapons: MBH necrosis rifle Coverant Retaliation or proton carbine.Ubber llc, is nice too, low SAC and good damage.

its a pretty good template...and to whoever said u coudlnt kill full temps is a lie.....
perma-daze is still possible because according to devs" concussion shot and panic shot are two different dazes" , therefore they can be spammed...the anger/rage thing only prevents continual disarm/startle.
so have ur fun bh's before they nerf it..
im a darn good jedi, with a pretty nice saber and i had to run into the water when the bh would shoot me a lil panic shot wait till his life fully regened after my attack then concussioned etc.....basically i sat there losin 1%force abotu every 20min....slowly but surely woulda got meso i left
ur temp will work fine against fully temps if u know what to do

Been there, done that. Without cm 4000 or doc, you won't survive a jedi encounter. I tried and tried, but the healing was alwasy the downside. It got bad when all the jedi marks were telling me to get healing. Finally took their advise and am much happier now.
