Can someone please tell me if seeker droids can be purchased from NPC's or if they are all player made. I hear different information from all sides. If you can purchase them from NPC's, then I do not know why I should even bother to make those. You need parts, only a Master Artisan can produce, and of course the correct level for DE.

Also, how usefull are Seeker Droids.

Thank you for your help

They can be purchased from BH droid terminals at a cost of 200 credits each. Each one is a one-shot deal however so over time the costs can add up. Seeker droids are used in BH missions past novice. Since the targets past novice level move periodically from their spawn point, BH's must use seeker droids to track the target's current location on a given planet. Seeker droids use a particular skill to regularly update the target waypoint every time they move. However, when the droid fails to acquire its target (usually due to a skill check failure), then the droid is lost requiring the BH to utilize a new droid to find the target.

Hope this helps.

They were never worthless. They can be used (once) by Bounty Hunters to create waypints to their mark on bounty hunter missions. DE seekers have a higher success rate that ones bought from a terminal. It's hard to charge 1k each for them, since it takes around 3 for a mission, and basic missions are worth 4k. That just means they're not profitable, but that's different from worthless. They also make cool decorations for your house. I've sold a handful on that premise alone.

I have a friend who has a factory and wants to start pushing out crates of seeker droids. Is there a good market for them and about how much should he be selling crates of 25 for?

Thanks for the help.

You can't make crates of 25. Seekers and Arakyd's come 5 per crate.

Prices vary by server, but around 1000 per seeker and around 2000 for arakyds is around normal.

Interesting pricing...I sell seekers with 10 charges for 4k and arakyds with 5 charges for 5k and can't keep either on my vendors...

Anyone noticed this problem. I've seen it a few times today (I've done over 2k worth of xp today). I lauch my probe. I either go to the planet or if it's on Naboo I check the WP. Then I go to the planet to launch the seeker (or if I'm on Naboo I just launch it). The first update I get from the seeker seems to provide the same WP as the probot's waypoint. So I head off towards there and launch a new seeker. The next waypoint is then usually 1-2km away. Anyone have this problem?

I've been making a few Seeker Droids , tring to use nice quality materials - and grind materials, and it seems to be the same outcome either way, could somebody tell me if thats right, that the quality wont matter making Seeker Droids.

You are correct, the quality of the materials don't matter for both types of Bounty Hunter droids. Its effectivenessis completly dependant on the skill level of the Bounty Hunter.

Yep what he said..there are alot of items within the droid engineer profession that dont really require good resources/experimentation....good thing to do would be read through the Droid Engineer information sticky posts at the top of this forum...they were very helpful for me.

Yep, resource quality on most droid items appear to have no effect, and on some final droids themselves. And do yourself a favor, make friends with novice BH's. They're your best friends for seeker sales.
