Hi all,
I just came back from a years break and decided to re-spec as a MBH. So I go and collect some good weapons, droidsand armor then set about getting my first Jedi bounty.
So i track my bounty down only to findout that they can cloak, wIf?!is this true? If so what were the devs smoking? When did Jedi cloak in the films and run to a house?
If true, how can i kill my bounty when it is invisible?
Disappointed

The only way to kill a cloaking Jedi is to kill them before they ever have the opportunity to cloak. They can only cloak if there is noone within a 20 meter radius of them. Quite frankly though you'll be hard pressed to keep them from cloaking if they want to and these Jedi will get away 90% of the time.

Well friend, don't worry not every target taht you will hunt will cloak. They'll either run away, or fight you. msot tend to run away, because of fear of losing xp, but theres also aot taht will fight you, so don't give up or anything. But yeah....cloak is pretty dumb.

You know when your at college and you practice your would be trade for free? Like when studenthairdressers cut peoples hair for free, but do a bad job to practice. I reckon SOE hired a bunch of students to program SWG.

Just because you get a Jedi's mission, it doesn't mean they are required to stay and fight you.

I think you are bit confused about cloak and thats understandable if you havent been paying attention.
When using cloak a Jedi is clouding the minds of people around using the Force.
Making them think that he/she is not there. There are numerous examples of that in the movies.
It has its drawbacks, for example turrets track and shoot at cloaked jedi without problems (no mind to cloud).
Also cloaked Jedi cannot use any offensive powers, doing so results in immediate decloak.
Force use of the skill is tied to the amount of people/npc:s near the Jedi, so in crowded places the FC is very large.
Also the skill cannot be used if there are people/npc:s within 20 meters.(not counting groupmates)
So put more effort in surprise and close the distance fast if you think the target has cloak.
In any other game, there would be a perception check or a save vs mind roll... this is apparently an RPG, so there should always be a chance for something like that to fail. Nothing that affects the mind should be absolute. There should be some way to make a saving throw against things like states and cloak/cover. Any state has a chance to fail. So should the cloak/cover.

it's a get away ability. if they have the skill that means they lack either defense offense or heailng. if they have the skill they can use it whenever they wish and they should not be stopped.
