Thread: Bounty Hunters... what can Dev do Right Now??

... There are many many things that we can do to help out your profession, given time.
Some of the things will be addressed bythe ol' "Combat Balance" mantra ... but not soon enough for you I am sure.
Other things are proving VERY difficult for us to track down. The 0 0 0 waypoint issue is quite a bear andwe are putting in still more logging tomorrow, but again, not soon enough for you I am sure.
The Jedi XP issue is requiring programming time which we don't have. We are trying to work it in, but again not soon enough for you.
We want to help out your profession as soon as possible. So that being said, as soon as we can get it through test ...
We are going to remove the Trapping, Hunting, and Survival Scout lines from the Bounty Hunter prerequisites.
This should give you and additional 48 skill points to add to the 33 you had left over for a total of 81 additional point to spend as you please.
This is something that we have been considering for a long time, and wanted to do as part of the CB, but we need you to be as effective as possible against Jedi as soon as possible. This is a start.
Your other issues are known, and in varying stages of development, but we want you to know that things are going to get better. Hopefully rapidly.
This change will be hitting Test Center tomorrow afternoon, and should be Live by Friday.

TAKE BH OUT OF THE GCW. I cant imagine a Bounty Hunter flying an x-wing. I think for our Bounty Hunters to be as strong as they should be we need to be taken out of the GCW at a certain stage to continue advancement past Master Bounty Hunter. If we are neutral us being strong wont be an imbalance to the game. My Solution:
After Master Bounty Hunter, the player has a choice of entering the BH Trials as a neutral player. There are three trails:
1. Jabba The Hut Trails
2. Valerian Trails
3. Swoop Trails
Trails should involve task to prove yourself to the faction. Each faction specializes in certain areas. When joining the Jabba Faction you will be trained more in carbine, Valerian faction more pistol and Swoop faction more LLC. Every faction will give training in all weapons but each faction specializes in a certain type. For example.
1. Jabba The Hut Specializes in Carbine, therefor we have: Carbine(HIGH) Pistol(MED) LLC(LOW)
2. Valerian : Carbine(MED) Pistol(HIGH) LLC(LOW)
3. Swoop : Carbine(MED) Pistol(MED) LLC(MED) Balanced
RANKING SYSTEM
Upon join the Jabba and Valerian faction you will be entered in a rank system. This is perfect cause, as we know, Jabba and Valerian are enemies. This cannot work like the Light and Dark ranking system(being overt). It has to be done with bounties. You get more bounty xp(invest xp) for killing a member of the enemy faction(Jabba or Valerian) and less xp for Jedi and even lesser xp for smugglers. (Or it can work like the Dark vs. Light system where u become overt at a certain point in your training to your enemy faction.)
Unfair to smugglers? Well Hans Solo didnt get away from his bounty with skill it was more with luck. Which is perfect cause I hear in the smuggler revamp they are getting a luck modifier.
Jedi bounties should only be given by the Empire. I feel it is not the Rebellion way to hire bounty hunters to kill Dark Jedi. Light Jedi(The Rebellion) are more political. This is an awsome idea because the rebellion will once again have that under dog feel to it.
Lastly, The Swoop faction are for those that do not want to compete in a ranking system with an opposing faction.

Holy cow!
Just G... this is a start.
I also think these might help:
+50 accurace to LLC line. put it at master if you wish, or dice it up througout the line.
Make the effect for ourspecials last long longer than it does now... the weaponswitch timer really really really hampers our ability to use our specials since our effectiveness comes in our VERSATILITY, not our focus on one weapon. This weaponswitch timer really goes against everything you set up the BH to be. I only suggest going this route, because I don't know if you have the ability to turn off the weaponswitch for just BHs..
That's all I can think of for now....
