Well I'm not interested in an ultimate template. Honestly my only debate is Swordsman or Fencer, I have no interested or intention of changing, getting or altering anything else in my template at all. I respecced to fencer nad so far have enjoyed it, but I'm still undecided

Greetings,
I'm looking to make a very decent Melee character and have decided to venture into swords and daggers instead of fists and kicks. I've been leaning towards Fencer, but I'm very interested in the "big mobs" that swordsman are able to drop.
My current Template is Master Fencer, 0-4-0-4 Swordsman. Should I reverse it and go Master Swordsman? I know I'm posting in the swordsman forums and as such my answer might be biased
.
I'm coming off of MBH (having mastered Ivest the "hard" way), so I'm capable of the grinding... thanks in advance!

i'd reverse 4040 fencer gives you amazing range/melee defense plus tons of dodge and blind dizzy intimidate defense. then you can use master swordsman for the damage and be an unstoppable tank.

From what i've been reading in the various elite melee profession forums, active defenses(dodge/block/counterattack) have been changed. Apparently you know longer get the bonus unless wielding a weapon that grants it. So you would, for instance, get the dodge bonus using a pistol or 1hd sword, but not a 2 hander or unarmed. This was apparently changed when they revamped the TKA defenses. Kinda killed all the cool dabbler templates :/

LOL Swordsman or Fencer... Doesn't that depend on what the holocron tells you?

Coming off of a MBH template I can definately say no. I've never owned a Holocron, never wanted one, and could care less what the hell it told me. My personal thought is that PCs shouldn't be allowed to be Jedi, and you can bet your bottom fscking dollar that I'll try hard to kill each one I see.
Not for nothing but instead of insulting my question with such a mundane question, why don't you keep your assumptions to yourself.

Does it really suck PvE, i mean could i still tear up some rebel commandos with ease? not to a degree of swordsman, but still mess em up mad fast?

Swordsman is much better for PvE because of blast damage. You can literally 3 hit rancors because they are vulnerable to it. Nightsister elders have low blast resists. Turrets and AT-ST's have no blast resists...... Swordsman is the highest damage per secondmelee class against armored targets.
