Seriously though, there have been about 10 posts in the last 2 days about how pathetic BH's are, or how easy it is to kill jedi, or how F*#@'d up the BH vs Jedi system is.

Most of the authors qualify thier posts by saying stuff like "this is just my opinion" or something. But these same authors know what they write will bring flame/hate.

So if you have a new technique, a question, a nice weapon to show off, a new bug to report(with data, not just OMG I GOT p0wNd - NERF THEM NOW). Please, Post away.

However, if you press that "new thread" button and start writing about How much Jedi/BH whine, or how Unbalanced it is, or how much you dispize respec BH, or how much you want to eat the young of House sitting jedi: please do not post it.

Its the same stuff that starts 3page long flame fests and forum flooding.

If its your opinion, i doubt anybody beside you really cares. So just keep it to yourself.

Now obviously i have no right to regulate what you write, so dont start quoting the constitution on me.

For once lets just keep this to a nice Positive, helpfull, interesting, bounty hunter forum.

The hatred between BH and Jedi is half the fun, and the reason its so satisfying when I slay a BH.

sometimes i think the pre cu bh's need cookies....similar to the guy who finds a new rock group he really likes, so he starts listening to them all the time but no one els really knows who they are. then the bands second album comes out and WOW they hit mainstream america (or canada in my case) Now everyone loves them....but that guy who loved them back when the first album came out (and no one knew who they were) gets all defensive and feels the need to tell everyone and i quote :"hey man, i listened to this band when they came out with their first album!!! all you other fans are just a bunch of sheep, i'm the real fan cause i heard them first".

what he's really saying is he wants recognition for discovering the band first...he wants his cookies.

The real problem with the BH vs Jedi system is that too many players on either side think they should be able to just walk through their opponent and win all the time. There are exploits andbugs i.e.; armor break, and many more that need to be addressed which add to the debate. In the end though it's the unwillingness of the BH/Jedi community to accept defeat that leads to whinning, hate/tells, etc.

When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

In short, no.

For every "OMGz I'm gunna be leetzor" Jedi, there is a "OMGz I get to punish other players" BH.

Even if they are a minority, and I'm sure they are, they are a very visceral reminder of some of the more pathetic people that play these games. People don't tend to remember the respectful opponent. They tend to remember the trash-talking jerky-boy instead. That memory colors their perception of their opponent strongly, sometimes overshadowing the more pleasant interactions they may have had.

And dying as a Jedi stings. Alot. In addition to losing exp, there's the realization that the promise of Jedi "Hey, work/grind your ass off and it will be worth it" is well and truly broken. Whether or not you agree with it, the dev's promised Jedi that when your template is done, you will be 1.5 times stronger than any other template. And some people bought into that. Now they've just had their exp taken from them by an opponent who's template takes a very small fraction of the amount of time to develop. That sting hurts worse than the exp loss. Even the newest of Jedi have spent no less than 15 weeks waiting for and working for the opportunity to START grinding far more exp than any other non-Jedi template in the game only to get their clock-cleaned. I know for me while I was working on Jedi I didn't do quests. I didn't venture into JTL. I didn't do base-takedowns. I didn't PVP. I did one thing, work toward the day my charactergot alightsaber. I doubt that my experience is unique in that regard.

Then, toss in the fact that people who playJedi hunterswant to PVP (not saying that's bad, because it isn't). And right or wrong, some Jedi don't. Those Jedi who don't aren't appreciative of the bonus content that the "Exp Taxman" provides. At best, they see it as an interruption in doing what they want to do. More often, especially in the grinding stage, they see it as someone who is here to set back their progress. Even if it's only an hour for low to mid level Jedi, that's an hour of time someone else took from them.

There are some people who just plain shouldn't be playing Jedi. They lied to themselves whether or not they could handle PVP. They lied to themselves whether or not they could handle exp loss. And they lied to themselves whether or not they could handle the people who just plain shouldn't be playing BH's. Yes, there are some people who just plain shouldn't be playing BH's. Just like there are people who shouldn't be police, just like there are some people who shouldn't be put in charge of children, there are some people who shouldn't play BH's. Obviously not all Jedi hunters are bad, and that's not even what I'm hinting at. I've had some good experiences with BH's who came after me. And in truth, they outnumber the bad ones significantly.

And lastly, both sides need to shut the *edit* up afterward. Win, lose, or draw just shut up if you're even thinking you're going to whine, make excuses, brag, complain or just plain be annoying. It does absolutely nobody any good. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Just shut up. And don't take silence for rudeness. Some people immediately put their mark/hunter on ignore because there are entirely too many people who can't keep their sewer shut.

But all that said, quite simply, no. We will never all get along. We're human and therefore broken.
