Thread: BARCs and the insta repair...4 FR33!!!

well they better not ever change it so you permanently lose your BARC aside from trading. Anyone who got the flash speeder can generate those until the servers close down. I dont see where the BARC is any different. I paid for the expansion to get the BARC and it is currently irreplaceable in game. At least with other high end stuff like the AV-21 or the jetpack are replaceable, albeit difficult, but replaceable none the less. Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of repair kit you got with your BARC to regenerate it? even craftable by artisans?
Yes there is, and artisans DO make them. Requires asteroid resource though

yes, lets keep it a secret and be exploiters just like the all the Jedi that get bished at here about being exploiters
That damn Barc speeder is the bane of Master Artisans. (course thats why I sell the repair kits at the same price as a Swoop) and this exploit directly screws Master Artisans out of having a viable product to sell.
adding more non-decaying items to the game was just a dumb idea. BARCs should go poof just like an AV-21 does when the owner is an idiot and lets it get shot up. (and dont even talk to me about Flash Speeders)
See I have no problem paying to repair my BARC, buying a repair kit, and probably wouldnt mind buying a new BARC. But, I dont want to lose my BARC, whether I am stupid or not, there is no way to replace it. If I lost an AV-21 to being stupid at least I could replace it. I've lost dozens of swoops and speeders and dont mind replacing them. Sounds like they need to fix the whole Master Artisan/BARC repair kit relationship. Either that or give the schematic to Artisans and let everyone have them. I just want it because I think it looks cool, I could care less if it is a free for life vehicle, but replaceable it must be.
I got the BARC as a 'perk' for getting The Total Experience, and I should -always- have a BARC. I pay to repair mine, but if it gets disabled I have to use a BARC repair kit (presumably one use) to 'restore' the BARC....
Two things:
(1) Bugs: For a while there, I could not repair my BARCat parking garages. I just didn't get a radial option. Or I would speed by, get the option, click it, and then get a message that I was too far... or if I was still close, I once got a message that there was no suitable garage nearby (even though I was under the overhang). That bug has since cleared itself, thankfully and I can repair my BARC as normal. A new bug has popped up twice now, though, that prevents me from calling my BARC (or my AB-1 landspeeder) and I had to trade them to a trusted friend who then (thankfully!) traded them back and that fixed it. VERY annoying.
(2) On Chilastra, the cheapest BARC repair kit I found was 100,000(most were higher)and swoops routinely sell for 15k. While, yes, that ALLOWS me to replace a disabled BARC, the cost is insane.
I have only had a vehicle disabled twice. Once, just after I came back to the game, a blue-con foe blew up my BARC just after I got off it to engage him. Without knowing any better, I stored it and then recalled it near a parking garage and it came out brand-spanking-new (apparently a bug, but what did I know: I figured that since it was a purchased-prize-item maybe that was the way it worked).
The second time, my bounty hunter mark blasted my AB-1 to bits WHILE I was riding it. No recovering from -that-, I was just out 15,000 credits like -that-. He was a yellow-con (CL82) elite boss mark, by the way ---- and a white-dot so I could not fight back. Yay bugs!
In short, BARC repair kits should not be so difficult to make --- that would automatically lower the cost to something more reasonable. I wouldn't mind paying the SAME price as a new bike, to replace my disabled BARC... but to pay SEVEN times what one vehicle costs to get my BARC back seems excessive. Part of it is profit-mongering, I realize, or a limited market perhaps... but I imagine the bulk of the problem is just that they're so hard to make.

They are a pain in the behind. Not so much to make, but to get the resources. Each tool requires 750 carbonaceous asteroid and 750 petrochemical asteroid. The carbonaceous is easy to get as it's in Naboo space, but the petrochemical is in Yavin IV space, so you need to have a pretty decent ship and at least tier3 pilot ability to collect it. The mining pirates are tenacious, and spawn constantly, so there's little time between spawns to actually mine. Using a medium mining laser in my Dunelizard (I'm 2322 privateer), I was able to mine only 250 units in around 40 minutes due to constantly having to break off mining and defend myself against swarms of tier 3 and 4 pirates. And I thank all those hours of playingX-Wing vs. Tie Fighter for lasting even that long. At the end of it, I had 7 pirates on my tail and I just couldn't keep them at bay any longer.
Granted, if you have a Y-8 with a heavy laser and tractor beam, it'll go faster, but still, it takes a while. And you have to manually collect every unit, there are no miners you can plant and ignore until their hopper is full. So considering the effort involved in collecting the raw materials, I can see why people are charging what they are. In the time it took me to collect those 250 units (one third of what I need to make that 100K tool), I could have run 3 BH missions and made almost the same 100K.
I guess my point is that I agree: they should be easier to make.
euhmm .. well .. how do I say it...
you do not need a repair kit...
if your barc is disabled.. then store it... go to a repair shop.. get it out and choose repair.. instant free repair...
thought it was working as intended as it is a Sony gift ![]()
oh well it is the perfect BH transportation vehicle... and if you sold yours for 6 mill.. wow that is still cheap for such a bike... ... till they fix it that is
