Im considering starting a swordsman/whoknowswhat and im wondering what weapons you guys use. Im going to be a zabrak, and im concerned that the power hammer will be an eyesore. Its health costs are also very high and its not very accurate. but the damage is massive and does blast damage (does that make a difference?). Ive also seen good 2 handed cleavers, which are good and look very cool.

i personally used the different axes, and the powerhammer throughout my work to swordsman, hoping to get master tonight or tommorow, but from what i hear use the curved sword from the point you get cert for it, untill you get some of the speed bonuses from the techniques tree, then use the cleaver to whenever you want to use the powerhammer, or some people use the powerhammer to hit with the bleed, then switch to the curved sword, or the cleaver, so it's just a matter of preference.

i hope that helps.

I am a Zarbrak and thats exactly what I do most of the time. A PH will give me awesome mind dmg but with my strength maxed out at 500 I nearly incap myself when using specials with it. IF I'm in for a shorter fight or something that I can kill quickly i'll use the ph and spam mind hits after starting a bleed, but for a real battle I'll generally switch to my cleaver so as not to take myself out.

Really you just have to play around and see what works best. Some creatures have a higher restance but don't do as much dmg, for them use a sword, others will hit you harder but take more themselves. I also find that a PH works better against npc's, but I always switch to my sword when getting mobbed by lots of creatures.

I personally have a well-made speed-sliced 2H curved that I use prettymuch all of the time. It's very fast for a 2H weapon and does quality damage. Once I get the speed boosts I'll check out a power hammer again. Without, they're quite sluggish :3

Sorry I can't speak to the damages of my weapons, but they are patching and I can't get in or depending on how thorough the devsare this time....

Anyway, I carry 3 Swordsman Weapons
Power Hammer - 5.8(?) - dmg sliced- 3.3k bleeds are not uncommon
2H Cleaver - 2.5 - dmg sliced - This is my work weapon. Low HAM good dmg, good spd.
2H Curved Sword - 1.9 - spd sliced - Great for non specials and berserk

i hardly ever use a sword of any kind, unless the thingi am attackinghas a high blast resist, by high i mean anything over 30% otherwise i just use the hammer. but when i fight giant peko peko i hit with the powerhammer for a bleed, then use a curved sword, still looking for a cleaver that has stats i like. but as i said it generally is a matter of preference.

From the moment I bought my first curved sword, I haven't used anything else. Just a matter of style, in my opinion. While I understand thata power hammer has its uses and is likely a really good weapon in certain situations, I've been extremely leery to use one. As I said, just personal preference - after all, we're SWORDS-men, not Power Hammer-men.

But then again, I also have an alt (master weaponsmith) who makes what I believe are the best two-handed swords on Corbantis, simply because ALL of my focus on stockpiling has been on sword materials. My power hammers, two-handed cleavers, and other melee weapons would likely suck compared to anyone else's.

My swords:

Raw (unsliced):

Speed: 2.5
Damage: 63-250

I personally carry four swords - two sliced for speed, two sliced for damage; both are the best out of 79 swords I did on a limited factory run (have more materials, but saving it for a higher-quality Dolovite Iron to spawn):

Speed slice:

Speed: 1.6
Damage: 63-250

Damage slice:

Speed: 2.5
Damage: 84-332

Overall, I'm starting to get a bit curious about cleavers and power hammers, though, and I'm guess I'll eventually use them. Also, I'm wanting to hit master brawler and TKA now, so I actually bought a weapon from someone else - a pair of VK's. Forgot to look in advance, but eventually realiized that the VK's are useless to me until I actually hit Novice TKA, by which time I'm guessing I'll have harvested enough material to build my own (hopefully much better).

While the axe is good at lower levels, in the end, swordsmen use those three weapons, all with their advantages and drawbacks. The three of them are nicely balanced imho, situational, and a matter of choice :

Hammer : pros : big hits (bleeds, headhit3 on KD'ed targets ...), blast damage instead of kinetic useful against some enemies (ATST ...), gets nicer as you climb your way to master swordsman (the more speed and accuracy mods you get, the more you mitigate the hammer's drawbacks) cons : eats health like mad, slow, inaccurate, poor weapon until you get some solid skill boxes in the finesse and techniques lines

Curved Sword : pros : excellent damage per second output (very fast with nice damage), very fast, good as soon as you get it (box2 in brawler), accurate; cons : low damage floor can cause some unlucky hits, eats through your action pool like hell (high action cost, and most 2H specials have a high action cost multiplier)

Cleaver : pros : tight damage variance (reliable hits), balanced ham costs between all pools (very good when not buffed and/or you can't rely on action healing) cons : damage per second lags overall behind curved sword, and behind a powerhammer in a master's hands, depending on your server, good cleavers can be harder to find than curved swords

Hello agian, What weap. would everyone recommend I use? I am currently using a curver sword 2.4 sp and max 185 dam. Besides enhancements, what is the best weap, I can get from a weaponsmith? Any on Kettemoor?

Personally it depends on 3 things:

1. Your speed mod

2. Your enemies kinetic and stun resits

3. If your rarge t has light armor or not.

Personally is swithch back and fouth between my stun baton, gafi stick, and vibroblade. I like the gafi stick the most overall tho because i hunt sulfur pool mynocks which ave no kinetic resits and no armor. In PvP tho I use the stun baton on heavily armord targets. However I'm still relatively new to fencer. I'm only a 0/2/3/3.

Hello, I'm new to swordsman profession, there are alot of things i don't understand. First, which weapon should i use at novice level? I'm master tka and working on swordsman, but so far all the weapon shop I've found sells curved sword then power hammer, there seem to be a huge gap inbetween. Is there a ryyk blade equivilent? Also, which tree should i go first to be effective damage dealer?

Thanks

Max damage and SAC (special action cost) are most important. Do not pay attention to DPS or Modified DPS

As far as rifles go, anything about 1040 is good 1100 is ideal, with a SAC lower than 90, ideally lower than 85. These rifles can include: Trandoshan Hunting Rifle, T-21's (rare at those stats and expensive), or Advanced Laser Rifles (believe it or not!)

I would also recommond a nice High Capacity Scatter Pistol with damage ideally above 950 and a SAC around 85 or lower.
