Ok I edited my sig with an HTML program and had it all nice and set up. I copied and pasted it into my sig box and when I clicked Save Changes I got an error saying that the sig contained restricted values. it won't even let me put color in it. Anyone know how to fix this?

Ok thanks for the links and allbut even after reading them and editing my sig I still get this error message when I try to save it.

You do not have permisson to have simple HTML in your signature.

This is so annoying.

Usually when it does that you're not using the correct HTML format or you have an "open" tag, i.e. you forgot to put the '<' or '>' at the beginning or end of one of your tags.

Ok i rechecked and didn't have an open tags. here is another part of the error msg. See when I edit it in the reply msg box here and preview it it works. Only when I copy and paste into my profile sig box does it give me the error.

"Tag contains restricted 'style' parameter:"

Try copying this into a message and then switch to html edit. Then copy the html code and paste it into the signature field. That should work..

You have to use HTML in order to put colors into your signature. The format is as follows:

<font color="color">Text Here</font>

Where it says "color", you can replace that with any basic text color, such as "red", "green", "blue", etc. However for the more advanced colors you'll need to use hexidecimal code. Hexidecimal code is a simple RGB color scale, the first two numbers are red, the second two numbers are green, and the last two numbers are blue. Each set of numbers ranges from 0 (for none of that color), to F (for all of that color). There are other combinations as well such as well, but this is the simple method. So for example if you wanted red, the number would be FF0000. The first two numbers are FF, meaning full red, and the last 4 are all 0, meaning none of those colors. Blue would be 0000FF, green would be 00FF00, purple would be FF00FF (a mix of red and blue), and so on.

So if you wanted red text in your signature, you would put:

<font color="FF0000">Text Here</font>

Just keep in mind to use colors sparingly so your signature does not become an eyesore.
