Thread: BOO!
Just to clarify before people start being random....
I am a vetran commandoplaying from the day oflaunch. Formerlly, I was one of the "Fab Five" Commando Crew that was going to test the CU in the "Sandbox." However, because of delays and frustration with the developers, I quit before the sandbox because I refused to pay the developers for screwing me over. (Note: I am STILL mad, but missed you guys anyway).
I'm not back back, but I will be around.
Hello again everyone! I have missed you guys (although I have been lurking to watch what is going on).

How ya been?
Been good... I have been playing EQ2 exclusively for the past 8 months. It's been fun, but ultimately I missed you guys.
I upgraded to a station players account (for some additional EQ2 character space for my wife and free adventure expansions) and figured, "Hey, SWG is free now, might as well dabble a bit and say hi to the gang."
One thing I have learned in my absence: SOE as an organization is not evil. Sometime stroll through the EQ2 boards and look through the Dev Tracker. EQ2 has THREE community managers who spend all day posting on issues, and 4-5 ACTUAL DEVELOPERS who troll threads and post a handful of times each week.
If there is a discussion thread that gets a decent amount of attention, the problem is usually hot-fixed or adjusted in 1-2 publishes. Additionally, the EQ2 team has engineered a full, sweeping combat balance of almost everything in the game in 3-4 months, whereas the SWG team took over a year. Developers are "all over" player comments re: the combat balance on the EQ2 boards, and I think the results have been great.
Now....my point is not to bash the SWG team...I'm sure they work hard, and want to please us. My point is, there is a noticable (HUGE in my opinion) difference between what is happening with communication with the development teamsof EQ2 and SWG.
It may not be the developers themselves that are the problem...I have seen how SOE developers CAN be. It very well be the management.
For those that played EQ Live, you may remember the hell that ensued soon after Planes of Power / Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansions. The developers put out 4-5 good games/expansions before PoP/LDON, players started leaving (IMHO mostly becausefew peopleplay anything for over 5 years), and so SOE decided to (1) ignore player desires andglaring game andclass balance issues, and (2) start pumping out expansions every 4-6 months to bleed existing players' wallets dry before they quit. They took a "screw perfect, make money" approach.
Massive chaos ensued, players got mad, and a "guild summit" at SOE headquarters resulted. Arguably, after the summit SOE continued to (1) ignore player desires andglaring game andclass balance issues, and (2) pump out expansions every 4-6 months to bleed existing players' wallets dry before they quit. They chose quantity over quality. That is primarly why I no longer play EQ Live.
I am worried that the SWG team (likely pursuant to the pressure of the same management) is now doing the same thing... Commando has been broken for over a year. We were broken before the CU, we are broken (if not moreso) now. Instead of listening and fixing it, they divert most of their development team to put out Rage of the Wookiees less than 6 months after JTL, and push out the Obi Wan expansion less than 6 months after that. Quantity over quality.
Ah well...it's free
Glad to be back guys ![]()

I say, every single exploitable feature would be found within 2 hours if they just put it on TC-Bloodfin lol.
