I been a MBH for a week now and had loads of jedi hunts, But failed every single time.

My template is MBH,MP CM 4000, my armor is 7000 energy damage, my scatter pistol does the damge of 1006 wiv slice and weopon power up, i have 10% critical hit on the pistol and good speed. The problem is i still get my butt kicked, even with all the doc and food buffs,

It comes down to it that i must be fighting wrong. and im wondering if any one know any good attack combos i can do. a or any macros.

Im starting to feel like the clown of BH's.

any tips would be appreicated, thnx

i pretty much asked the same question a few days ago. one the most important things is a 75% armor break slice so get that done if you haven't already. i've learned that i'm not going to out damage the jedi so you have to keep your distance and kite and use them roots and specials, pistols has some nice looking states, i've never tried pistols but just looking at it, it seems to have some nice special.

the bad thing with pistols is your in attack range of the jedi, so that might be a problem but for you, some good bh's are MP but for me thats alittle to close for comfort.

My temp is BH/Mcarbs/CM4xxx, but since alot of jedi on my server are mdef/ with root, force run, and a few other goodies, i'm having trouble keeping them at bay with only my snare and KD so i've been thinking of changeing CM4xxx to CMxxx4, this will give me a MEZ i can hit em wiht incase they root me, gives me thyroid rupture so slow their attack speed. In my head it sounds pretty good, but haven't tested it yet.

I'm not really a pro and hunting jedi so i've just be doing trial and error tatics, but keep at it you'll get one. i'm in the same boat and i got me one this morneing.

The most important thing to do when you are starting out is to learn to be patient....

1. First up you ARE going to lose to start with unless you are a natural born PVP'er. But as you learn to use your templates strengths and protect yourself from your weaknesses.

2. Secondly learn about your target.

3. Its very very easy to saunter up to your target and get your butt handed to you by a guy who has just left he MO with a full buff and a belly full of foods. 10 minutes later that same guy will be a push over since a lair full of pickets has done half your job for you. You biggest advantage been the hunter is you get to choose when to attack.

4. Alot of Modern bounty hunters seem to think that the practice of ambush and bushwacking is some what dishonorable. Many of these people are post CU bounty hunters who do not remember a time Ranged really sucked and to be a "pure" ranged BH was basically suicide. Here are my top 3 stratagies for dirty attacks...Using all of these will get you a lot of hate tells city bans etc, but they will also get you the drop on your targets.

A. Bomb droid under shuttle term / Mission term. If your target is grinding out a particular location then a mouse bomb droid can be concealed in the base of a mission term and an R3 hides quite well in a ticket term. Simply target it and retreat to the town mall or some other public building. When the group come back for more missions simply walk outside detonate and let rip with your best knockdown stopping shot damage combo....Also works well with rifles and conceal shot etc.

B. Joining the marks group....Get an invite try to stay out of trouble until the group gets overrun then once your target is tired wounded etc deliver the coup de grace....Not recommended for anyone doing the FS grind since once word gets out your invites are gonna dry up...

C. If your target is in a group milking lairs ie farming the mobs but not killing the lair it is possible to hide in the lair when the group have moved on and wait in the lair for your mark to come back. Target the mark and wait till most of the mobs are dead, your mark will be low on force and possibly mind, action health etc. The lair hides your presence on the rader giving you all the time in the world to queue up your most devestating attackand if they are tapping the lairs for more mobs then you target may well be within DB range....Chances are they will be dead before they realise you are their especially if they already taking damage from mobs...

There are other really dirty things you can do which even I wouldn't stoop too...I know of at least one person on radiant that makes a pretty penny dropping marks as they load into spaceports....

Best bet is to practice

Keep trying, and you'll get better.

Of course, if you don't want to embarrass yourself, practice against a friend (a jedi prefereably, but a swordsman is good practice too)

I practiced against a guildie jedi, and that's how I got good

Do not prepare for a fight based on a kiting strategy, Jedi have a habit of catching you and then you will panic and die.

Also, if you are effectivley kiting, the Jedi will run the other way and you will most probs lose him or if you catch him, any damage you have done will be gone and you will be starting from scratch again.

I usualy go toe to toe as much as poss, it encourages them to stay and fight.

Get 8k energy resist scout armour, slice it for 75% AB reduction and 20% damage absorb.

Finda combo of drink/food/spice that works for you.

Dont use your health buff crystal if you have one, I find it makes me to comfortable taking damage initialy and it kills most of my mind getting back up to full health.

I recently removed both my ranged arms, and it has made a whole lot of difference, these really are no good for pistoleers (maybe rifles but i still didnt think so) An 80m or 50m range sounds good, but think .. how often does a Jedi stay in that safe range? Not long without closing in or running.

If you have bacta toss or spray, get the enhancers. Manage your heals well.

Have a low sac action like ranged shot in your tool bar. If your action gets low, use it and always leave enough action to kd recover.

Have a /target <jediname>macro in your tool bar also, If he runs or you lose target, you can click here instead of trying to click him whilst moving.

Lastly, do not panic, keep a cool head.

Oh.. and if you are on Chimeara server and looking for a guild, send a mail to Curse, Cuki, Erega or Abob. Join FEA and I will show you the ropes of BH and get you killing in no time!

You can practice with me and against the Jedi in FEA. Thats how I got better, on top of guild hall, you cant run or kite, so you have to go toe to toe and you have to learn the hard way!!

Most of this information is good, but just face it, you will die to the jedi and you should give up or lean to PvP.

On a serious note, I came here to see what you guys talk about and seeing as how I cannot offer the new jedi any advice in our forums without some loudmouth BH (I understand one person is not representative of all) I figured I'd throw one of those quipes in just for humor.

Thanks for that...

But back to the OP's questions, I too am starting out with this template on a new toon.

8K+ armour is essential as is the slices. Try and get hold of a double capped weapon, I'd recommend the Featherweight FWG. Also, pick the right foods, bearing in mind the current question marks over Defense.

Or you can get lucky like I did with myfirst kill during my second go around on BH.

A jedi and his buddy were sitting on a hill in Dant. No afk or LD symbol, I got withing 50k and they didn't move.....got closer and his buddy stood up. he didn't move. I nailed him in 5 shots.

He quit 5 days later so I assume he just let me do it. Not very sporting of him but I got my 200K.

But the basic thing to do is get your armor 75% AB sliced. Stops alot of armorbreaks.
