Thread: Good template

Hi, what's a good template to add with master commando? I'm working my way up the rifles tree. Is this a good idea?

My template maximizes skill points for use. Master Commando, Master Smuggler, Pistoleer 4-4-0-4. He is not one of the l33t BH templates, but he isextremly fun to play. I would suggestyou study some of the shot specials smuggler and pistoleer allows you to use.....they work very well together.

Commando combined with Rifles will give you access to some good damage specials and nice offensive & long range rifles. Should also think about getting some healing skills with your template.

I do agree, healing would be nice, but Irarely solo. My weapons do not out-damage the riflemen(and certain othe profs) I often run with, so I do not get targetted aggroas much...hence why I do not miss a healing line (stims work for me). Would be nice if Ruby Bliel was working for the stim round time. Most players have the heal ability, so my smugglerness 'gets' the heals as needed from fellow players...hehe. If you go rifles, and will be using rifles often...healing skills reallyare a must. The AOE crowd control I can use with my weapons have been very appreciated...and I can still hit well. It depends on your style of play. All in all....commando is fun. Could you imagine how really fun commando would be if we got some dev luv?

You must remember that as commando you have almost all specials in the game built into your weapons. Instead of specials you just switch guns around.


With that said the only thing your toon lacks is damage (the irony eh?) and crowd control.



Rifleman is not a good choice for commando IF you are going to be using commando weapons 100% of the time. Sniper shot is almost pointless to use with the low dps/low max damage commando weapons in pvp and pve and head shot isnt really that good considering LEG SHOT from carbineer offers a lot more flexibility initsleg shot branch.



For damage Ialways recomend going carbineer 0400. You get legshot which is an excellent high damage attack and it also gives your a good ranged snare crippling shot. AS WELL as +40 accuracy mods.


For crowd control andother special abilities not found in commando weaponsits a choiceyou will have to make on your own.



Smuggler has perhaps THE best combat tool a commando can ever hope for: Low Blow.(-40 combat speed..awesome tool!). Also of great utility is Panic Shot.. you stop your enemies from doing anything but moving for the next 30 seconds unless they get hit. Perfect for pvp and for pve get-away / high level mobkilling.


Pistoleer offers commando just one thing: Root. All other pistoleer skills are of no consequence to us.



All in all my best recomendation for acommando template is:


Master Commando

Smuggler 4030

Brawler 4040

Novice Teras Kasi

Medic 0040

Carbineer 0400


This template gives you good ranged and melee defenses, gives you great damage dealing abilities and great debuffing/crowd control utilities.


You dont have root but when you consider that with this template you can whip a VK out, quickly armor break a target, use unarmed4 leg sweep to KD target, switch to plasma flamethrower and legshot a KD'd+armor break'd target and THEN panic shot him (if dot doesnt stick..which most times it doesnt) so he cant get up and THEN legshot him again....


well lets just say very,very, VERY few people in pvp can survive that. Only a master defender with full buffs up and with infuse running can survive it.

Master Carbineer goes well with Master Commando.

+ Impr.Crippling Shot for an effective Snare.
+ Impr.Leg Shot, considered one of the best, if not the best, Ranged Damage Special.
+ Impr.Charge Shot for an effective KD.

Carbineer gives damage capability with a tad of target control. Far more than what Master Rifleman can ever do.

Hi guys,

At the Moment I'm a MBH/MRifle with CM 4000. I was thinking of getting Master commando. Is MBH and Master Commando a good combo?

sunsplash: my starsider commando was this template for a while as i tested it. I later went on to test pistoleer debuffs and found them useless.



but yes that template is solid for pve and pvp. i usually win in pvp without taking damage, that above mentioned combo of moves is devastating when you have a damage max powered up high damage statsflamer/proton rifle.

Im already Mcarabiner/Mcommando/CM 4000 Thats sucx! Any BH blows me away..(((


Im thinkinswitch to MCrb/Mcomm/Marksman 4044/Rifleman 4004 to maximize in proton rifle...


Any 1 use such tp? maybe u have other advises?

My current template is MBH/MC/Smuggler 0-0-4-0. This template isn't the best but I can dish out enough damage with BH specials to contain most LvL 80 NPCs. I also have concussion shot which I can daze and root a target for about 20 seconds. This gives me enough time to regroup, heal, or eat food or drink. The only real reason that I took smuggler (and the 3rd tree) was for the scout armor cert. When hunting LvL 80 Bounties, it helps to have the energy protection from Scout armor.


Killing Jedi isn't easy with this template so if that is what your wanting to do, I wouldn't go this route. However, this is my play style which works well for me.

I was thinking of MBH/Master Carb/4000 CM?
Or shoud I go MBH/MR/4000 CM?
Or MBH/MP/4000 CM

Or even DOc instead of CM?

How good are Carbs with MBH anyways?

dont go carbines, or anything with doctor heals, they take up to much mind. i have master rifleman, with 4xxx combat medic, and i am a fairly decent pvper and jedi hunter. pistoleer with the heals of a combat medic are not bad either.
