Thread: Why do we hunt the Jedi anymore?

In their natural habitat, that is Kashyyyk, Jedi are almost un-trackable. Sure we can us the auction chatroom search commands to see if they are in a particular area of Kashyyyk (if we ever get a name on them), and we can run down the instances to find them, but why? Even off on other planets, what does it gain us to hunt a Jedi?

It used to be money and prestige for me. I hunted VERY high profile Jedi for the 225K reward and for the "notch" on my belt. "Hey... there's Legead... he beat So-and-So one on one" it was nice. Then the mission payments were taken away along with their names. Aside from hunting a Jedi for 225k, I usually hunted them from a player bounty. Somoene once paid me 5 million credits to kill a Jedi, present them with a phrase letting them know who sent me and why, and then capturing the whole thing with a screenshot and emailing off the "proof of death."

Let's face it... our equipment costs a lot of credits. So many infact that even at 150-225k we were almost breaking even on a hunt. Consider that (at the time) to buy a set of 8000+ resist armor and have it sliced cost well over 1 million credits. You'd have to have 10 successful bounties at the "elite" mark (200k + ) to make that effort worth your time.

Currently, Jedi missions have been reduced to 55k (max) or so. Now, I will need to hunt well over 40 Jedi to generate the same amount of cash, but using FAR more in the way of supplies to do that. There really is no profit for me in hunting Jedi.

Being an avid hunter and enjoying the acutal art of the hunt, I have turned to the npc missions. While these are not as fun as tracking a real live person at a keyboard, they are fun in respect that they are FAR surpasing any previous earnings I've made from hunting the Jedi. On my first mission, I looted a CA that sold for 9mil. On my second mission, I looted parts to slice my weapons. 3rd hunt I looted parts to slice my armor. 4th hunt I looted a CA that sold for 5mil, and the list goes on.

So I submit to every hunter here.... Why do we still hunt Jedi? When you answer, please take for granted that we would ALL hunt Jedi for the thrill of the hunt, and for the sheer fact of messing up someone's otherwise good day.

I will answer first. I still hunt Jedi, but only occasionally, and I hunt them because I like to keep my PvP skills sharp.

i hunt because i enjoy it.

Doing it for the purpose of ruining someone's gameplay is greifing.

Have you forgotten about the bonus you get upon completion that will take your total payout to AT MINIMUM what you would have gotten under the old system?

I dont think you've ever beaten a jedi since the publish... you get teh full payout after you beat them

Probably not. He's been too busy looking for a way to mess up someone's otherwise good day. Gotta pity emotional cripples like that.

I wasn't aware that the bonus was that high. And no, I've hunted any Jedi since the new publish. I saw no point in it. I may have to reconsider.

Think of it as payback for all the low level guys the Jedis slaughtered around mission terminals before they changed the FRS system. No one seemed to care about them ruining some kids day and destroying that kids bike that he saved to buy, just so they could move up a few points. So save your new age psycho babble BS for your care bear friends, you won't find any sympathy here.

Bmill I dont mean any disrespect but go out and hunt a jedi (now) so you know what you are saying. Initially when you get the missions its 55K when you kill the jedi it goes to whatever it was originally (220K etc) just look at my sig, the 226K and the 202K and the 220K are all post pub 21.
