Thread: Attention: Medic xx2x Balanced For Pub 21

If I've understood this Dev Post, templates that rely on Medic xx2x for their healing may see a noticible decrease in their abilities after Pub 21.

... awh, crap. I have access to none of the advanced heals with my current CM template

On the other hand, it's a bit weird they havn't noticed this earlier. If they've been using the same code since they were launched, the advanced versions have effectively been completely useless, as they'd heal the exact same amount as the basics.

It's a good thing I didn't spec out of Combat Medic 4xxx. As a Pistoleer, I couldn't survive long in short range combat without my template's current healing abilities.

Whooboy, it's good that I didn't opt for Pistol xxx3 / Medic xx2x instead of CM 4xxx... Dodged a bullet on this one!

Are they decreasing the bottom-end heals, or improving the top-end heals? Or maybe a little of both?

They are decreasing the bottom-end heals because they were using the top-end heal formulae. That was a bug.

Yes. I posted first, but duplicate posts aren't that bad.

Wow...and I was about to change my template from MBH, MCarb, CM 4000 to MBH, MCarb, Pistol 0003, Medic 0020. LOL....good thing I haven't done that yet.

Hmm. So Combat Medics 4xxx are gonna take a hit too, with Advanced Bacta Shot being a Doctor ability?

I hope Bacta Spray is buffed up enough to compensate...

Check this thread for current values... I'll be very curious to see what the values on Test are.

Um, from what I've read, there will be no change at all the Advanced versions of any heal. The standard heals will get dropped down. Here's an example from the post linked in the OP.

For Example, prior to this change:
A Combat Medic 3000 / Medic 0410 with a Healing Efficiency of 55 will on average heal 943 points of damage using Advanced Bacta Toss
A Doctor 2000 / Medic 4240 with the same Healing Efficiency of 55 will also on average heal 943 points of damage using just the standard Bacta Toss

After the change, the Doctor using the standard Bacta Toss will heal less damage than the Combat Medic using Advanced Bacta Toss

saw this. newbies all just got nerfed because of this. I think it sucks. It was the HE mods, not the heals.

I just posted about this in another thread. I didn't notice any substantial difference on TC last night. My build is mbh/mcarb/0030 medic. The heals might be less than they were, but it's not like they've been dropped down to the 200 point range or anything severe like that. I'll try to get some healing numbers tonight for 0040 and 0030 medic.
