Thread: Bounty Hunters have reached a new plateau

Let me start as always by saying that not only did I "do" BH. I did it twice. and the first time I needed master Marksman and Master scout. the second time was just to see if things had changed.
My alt char (though most used now) is a jedi. Since the terminal change publish I started to get "visitors" much more often. This is because non-experienced, unskilled or respec bh never wanted to play with me before unless they had a group of friends.
When the publish first hit. I got attacked 3 times that day. one of them was an actual battle although I did thankfully survive. the other 2 whined all the way to the cloning station. over the next couple weeks I have been attacked at least 15 times. most of them where no more challenging than a lvl 81 picket protector. Those guys seemed to have given up and gone back to the fs grind.
Lately though I must tip my hat.
'vos (on ahazi) could have easily have destroyed me. I ran and ran and ran until I had some force (he jumped me while i was fighting krayts) he was polite and for some reason dropped my mission we dueled and he showed me the power of good equipment coupled with a little talent. then there was another this morning (killed me while I was fighting a giant krayt... cowardly I thought at first but then came to terms with it, decided I would have done the same thing and moved on back to dant and the exp grind.
Then cipher. we eventually stalemated and he gave up my mission and went away. we had a decent chat afterwards.
finally about 30 minutes ago I was attacked by Thorn-cd.. we were still battling when the server shut down. I like to think I would have won though since i had about 15% force but he was down to about 5%mind.. who knows.
Bottom line is this. The only BH it seems are left fighint players not the npc's are the truly skilled bh's.
I applaud you for sticking with the profession, I applaud you for not whining about having to do the missions solo and I bow to you for wiping the sand with my force sensitive butt.
Thank you for being skilled and adding to the experience of the game. Dont get me wrong I do hate to lose but it doesnt sting that much when I lose to someone because they are just flat out a better player than me instead of a 5 man gank squad communicating in noobish.

Ok so we've weeded out the false bounty hunters....now how do we do that for the Jedi?

Nathanielstarr... dont worry bout weeding out the jedi. you just keep doing your thing bewteen the occasional exp loss and that hot iron soe keeps stickin up their butts, they will be bh loot chasers soon enough

The level of competency and maturity of the BH that have encountered me post 20 has risen dramatically.
/salute the "New Breed" which is most likely the remnants of the "old guard" along with a few hardy younglings.

Hey you left me out LOL ... I must admit I get my rear handed to me a lot more often post pub 20 and considering the game keeps changing for us with each nerf er publish. There are a few of us who regularly pursue the best content in the game, but even we need timing and surprise on our sideand of course having a rediculously uber weapon helps too. Of course weapons are improving thanks to new bh npc dropslike theenhanced power cores dropping off NPC bounties (even those of us who make it a staple hunting playerstake a few minutes out to pop a double bracketedboss mob for somerighteous loot.)
In fact just before the server went down I logged on after reading the BH changes in pub 22 and grabbed a mission and after a decent battle looteda x6+152dam/-0.78spd/-8sac enh power core set,good crystal, and bh gloves schem all three items in the same loot drop ...
I must admit with these boss mobs spamming nearconstant stun (retarding actionregen) you have to spend a few additionalmelee rounds clearing this state. Bottom line ispost pub 22 these boss mobs are actually tough (finallymore fun and require a bit of skill).

There was a post floating around after the term changes were announced that said the BH's who stick with it are the scary, psycho-driven BH's that Jedi should fear, because they've enough skill and confidence to take a full temp and aren't worried about picking those missions. I agreed then and I agree now.

heh, the guys they weed out would probably never make FRS anyhow so it's all good. The BH dynamic isn't really about population control its more like growth reduction therapy for hormonally inbalance fast growing children
