Thread: Cover up for a BH/Smuggler

I did not find this wrong in the least… tell me what you think, please.

I was pulled a Jedi mission off the terminals and started tracking and following him. For me I live for the tracking of the mark, I tracked him to over 6 planets as he shopped. Now I saw what the places he was going on my map and bring up vendors in those areas and from there guess what he was buying. Looks like he was buying new resources for a new saber, my thought was right. 2 planet jumps later he’s in a player city that gives a boost to crafting (I don’t recall if the crafting in the right player city helps Jedi or not) so I stay out and watch him some more knowing that he’s going to want to test his new tool out soon.

To speed this along he ends up heading to Naboo, so I land in Moenia so not to run into him as in case he is one of those Theed fighters outside the starport. I run out side and see that the mark lands in Moenia right behind me. I run out of the starport and put on my macros, my character is a Master BH/Master Smuggler/pistoleer 0003 (still working on that 4th box) which is already not looking good because I have no medic/healing skills. I keep my Master Smuggler tag up and go AFK in the mean time my macro is spamming /howl Buying slicing loot got a fair price please put it on my vendor at WP 2840 -38432 (some numbers I made up not a real WP) and smiling every now and then so not to log off. The Jedi mark runs right by me and stands 3m from me waiting. I am careful not to move nor to click on him in case I smile at the target or my head will turn and look at him giving me away. At this time I see my mark is Imp which is nice seeing how I am also an Imp. After about 2-5min another Jedi meets with my mark and the start joking around and start to duel each other right there in front of me. From there duels I studied my mark and coming out that he is a Master Powers/Healer 4020 (because of sap)/Enh 3004 (because he had mediate and speed)/Def 0040 (at least for the Improved Aura) and maybe the rest in LS but was not sure at this time because I never saw armor break and I do not recall all the saber moves. From there 3 duels I seen all this and know that he has 21 skill points left to put some where, but I knew I was close to his template. Now this opponent on the other hand was a Master LS/Master Def/Healer 3000/Enh 0002. I sat there and watched for 20-30min slicing a few weapons which I just picked up. I notice that they were not going to stop anytime soon so I waiting for them duel again and when my mark just healed I quickly pulled out a scatter pistol with a fast attack speed and hit Bleed, KD, Adv Critical Shot, Adv Reckless… during this the person was fighting was still attacking and I already had /deathblow in my chat window waiting. With the help of this friend it only took me 4 shots to incap my mark and deathblow was already counting down. I landed the deathblow and got my 220k+ in cash… He never saw it coming, nor did he not know what to say until 3min later after the fact. I never got so many hate tells from one Jedi in my life and he said he would report me for what I did… and then yelled at me for hunting a Imp when I’m an Imp.

Now for me I can not see what is wrong about having a spamming macro going and a AFK tag up on your char when you are hunting a Jedi. I do not see what is wrong with hunting a Jedi that is the same Faction… after all doesn’t Vader hunt down any and all Jedi. What makes you think being one faction or the other makes it right or wrong? And what is wrong about blending into the area as a spammer? Is anything wrong with this or is it just something that people have not seen very often?

Just a Smuggler that Jedi run from nothing special

Nothing wrong with that at all, although my MBH/Master Smuggler would tell you differently.

Yep.

All Jedi are evil. There's even that one bounty mission that comes from the Empire saying so.

Let them see how hard it is to kill a Jedi with the template you have and see how easy it is. If a fight goes longer than a couple of minutes, you're almost guaranteed to lose. And what is he doing flashing his saber around in public like that anyway? If they're doing it just to show off, we don't need him as an Imperial anyway.

I know that makes no sense, but I can't figure out how to edit my posts. I'm sure you get the general idea though.

Many players do not grasp the concept that Bounty Hunters (and Smugglers for that matter) are not upstanding and honorable professions. They are criminals who may abide by their own code of conduct within theirchosen profession. As criminals, even if they have a concept of honor andwhat is right, it should be no surprise that it is different from the general populace. Even though BH's are supposed to be sneaky and clever, Jedi get offended if you don't "announce" your presence in a manner they have grown accustomed to. If uniformed and readily identifiable personnel were effective against Jedi (and other marks) there would be no need for the nondescript BH.

Players need to understand that there is a difference between actually cheating/exploiting the game andbeing simply being sneaky & underhanded asa profession dictates. It may seem like a fine line at times, but thelineis there. Sounds like yougrasp the concept and used it to your advantage. Well done!

I think it's a fun clean kill, good job. The dumb jedi see it as you cheated because they didn't know you were there and "it's not fair because I'm the prey and I'm to stupid to be smart and be caught off guard"

Let me just say - awesome. Nice job. You are a true BH/Smuggler. You used your brain. Don't pay any attention to that Jedi (after all, its not your fault that you were born smarter than him), and keep up the good work.

The way I see it you did nothing wrong.

As an Imp, I would not hunt my fellow imperials, but that is my own personal choice, and if I were an Imperial who happened to be a Jedi, I would NOT expect the same consideration for me, nor would I blame my fellow Imperials for hunting me.

This Jedi was dueling in public, fully aware that he was building visability. He should have EXPECTED an attack. He may have prefered a "straight fight" as it were, but he was delusional to expect it, or count on it.

It was, as most have said, a good kill.

It took wits

It took patience

It took cunning

Good job!
