now, I was quite depressed when the 'big news' finally came.

but, after a few hours in halflife and my old stomping grounds in AO, I found out that SW:G is still more fun.

so, what do you expect and/or hope to see in this expansion?

personally I hope for:

- a quest driven FRS, that involves both PvE and PvP
- well writen story lines that appeal to all proffesions (including crafters)
- some interesting add-on's like armed vehicles.
- new interesting items that does not relate directly to jedi.

now, what do I expect:

- a hurried release, with a minimal beta
- bugged quests, that has no CSR support, ever.
- a new vehicle, that you get if you preorder, but it sucks.

- a visual update, that will be reused throughout the rest of the game world

I am truly scheptical about this expansion, as it seems to offer me very little. True, it is geared towards veteran players, but in a manner that holds little interest for the non-jedi veterans

my take is thats its just another planet where there are 100 different instanced places a jedi can hide where droids can't find them. Its just going to be another jedi safe haven for grinding and anyone at soe who says its not is full of crap.

It is obviously a jedi expansion. I figure nonjedi can participate but it will be much harder for them and alot less rewarding. I also think it's the key to the FRS. Remember when they said Lucasarts had something in mind regarding the FRS....well I think this is part of it.

I certainly hope getting jedi master is not just a series of quests that every jedi will eventually get through. It will be even worse when every complete template become a complete Jedi Master.

While the screenshots provide some visual eye candy, it seems that the whole basis of this expansion is focused entirely on Jedi..I mean, geez, we used to think they were coddled before, but a whole expansion dedicated solely to one profession?

Sure, other professions will be able to "go there"...and do what? look around..What the hell does Obi-wan have to do with anyone but Jedi? All the quests there are going to be Jedi oriented..So ya, congrats everyone. BH's get thrown a bone in the way of a couple new loot items. Jedi get a whole new f'ing expansion.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's plain as day just who SOE cares about in this game. Jedi are their bread and butter now...*sigh* I long for the old days...

I'm still waiting for a full planet the size of Naboo, Corellia,, and Dantooine to be released. I don't want any more damn content planets. I want another planet than I can explore, grind on, and live on.

And yeah, SOE is going to be dumb, put lvl 80+ mobs on Moooooooostafar, and it'll become the new grind spot for Jedi... and since droids won't work there, we'll get screwed again.

I would really like to see Tanks fight for our droid usage there.

Simple economics. Most people want to play Jedi. If you cater to 'Most people' you make more money.

I find it funny that after 2 years people still don't realize that SOE doesn't care about you and I.....they care about our $$$$$$$!

ONE little item that they could include in this thing for non-Jedi would be to make one of HK's rewards an Assasin Droid Schem. This would give some much needed love to DE's and if they were viable, a very nifty tool for the BH.

my take is this, the servers will be down for at least a day while this garbage is put into the game, after that every other planet will be slightly laggier, jedi will have a new grind spot complete with exploitable terrain nearby, the mobs near this spot will be cl80 with 6k ham, after a month they'll be increased to cl81 with 20k ham, a month after that they'll try to nerf xps again because now 75% of the population is jedi, then a week later they'll unnerf it, then 3 weeks later they'll announce the next expansion which will be another tie in to episode 3 and will be a linear, quest based planet, this will coincide with the release of lucas's "special edition" of episode 3 on dvd, after that it'll just keep recycling itself.

Did you expect anything less?

We dont really know enough to Like or Dislike it yet imo. We have no idea if it will be instanced or not. If it is, well, who cares. Just because its instanced doesnt guarantee no Jedi hunting. We dont know for sure what the quests will be but only 1 is for sure a Jedi quest reward (but not necessarily Jedi only can do the quest).

So really, whats the point of complaining about something we really know nothing about yet?
