Thread: Rifles or carbines?

can't get an answer on the BH forum. gonna respec from commando (sorry to see that go, but hey, it's broke)to MBH/CM4000 with either carbines or rifles. I've never been either a carbineer or a rifleman. What is preferable?

I'm master rifleman and I can say that rifleman rules, although I never was a carabineer. Rifle has a range of 65 m. High DPS. Capped SAC of 82. Capped damage over 1k. Good speed. Plus if you will slice it - it will be sweet.

Carbineer. Rifleman works until you get Rooted and they start carving you up, because many Rifleman skills need you to be at range. Rifleman also has low defenses and is very slow running around.
Carbines has great attacks and weapons. For an example of a great carbine, check my sig. ![]()

From the other side of the fence, I took carbines. You sacrifice a little accuracy and damage, but a damage capped lvl 54 carbine is still 1063 damage, uses less action, and fires a bit faster than rifles, and has slightly better defense. But, I've never tried Rifleman, so I can only compare them based on the stats I've seen. I chose carbines because after pistols, they were my favorite, but no way was I limiting myself to pistol range, or extending it by using cybernetics that are known to cause armor holes if the jedi does manage to catch up to you.

go rifles because of the defense mod read the post below on defense. =)

...and then regrind to Carbines once they fix the problem.

or since it takes like 1 dayto regrind....
1. go rifles
2. realize that it will be a while because it has to do with the entire defense system, not just food

I have a hunch this problem is why the next Pub is taking so long to be released.

Go carbines, once u get a proton carbine, slice it then pup it and it will have a dps around 800 plus all the skills from MC will make you a jedi killing machine

One word RIFLES! Hit a Jedi with sniper shot, KD, Avanced Crit shot and u on your way to victory!......................................ora massive beating
. Plus carbines are boring ugly looking guns no style at all! now the Fallan Hyper Rifle, Trandoshan Hunting Rifle and LD-1 rifle are pimped out

Carbines is also good because of the good snares it has + chargeshot is a way better KD than underhand.
