Thread: Another template question

Since I am unable to play my Jedi until publish 10, I wanted to toss out a few questions and get some ideas from the experienced Jedi. Currently I am undecided on whether I will join the FRS or not.
1. Is it absolutely necessary to get 4-0-0-4 healing in any template a player decides to do?
2. My Jedi will without a doubt have Master Force Powers. After all what is a Dark Jedi without it. I know alot of that tree is broken, but I am keeping the faith that it will one day be fixed.
The template ideas I have been throwing around in my head are:
1. Master Saber, Master Powers, 4-0-0-4 Healing(I don't care for the healing line in a Dark Jedi template, but due to the mechanics of the game, it may be unavoidable).
2. Master Saber, Master Powers, 4-0-0-4 Enhancement(Channel Force and Meditate look like they can be useful skills, and the force speed looks like it may be useful. I'm not worried about FR as I will stand and fight till I win or I die.)
3. Master Saber, Master Powers, 4-0-0-4 Defender(The added Melee Defense is nice since I can stay in a battle longer.)
The main reason I'm listing Master Saber as well is for the added force and regen of having 2 masteries, plus being a Dark Jedi I am all about doing damage and want to be able to deal the best damage with whatever saber a situation may call for. Not to mention the added blocking ability. However if anyone can list any other unique and interesting templates that fit the Dark Jedi persona, I may be willing to forgo Master Saber.
Of the 3 possible template I listed #3 is the one I am leaning twords right now.

What Force Sensative skills should I invest my 24 points into as well? I was thinking melee accuracy, melee speed, melee defense, ranged defense, vehicle control, luck.

you will have plenty of time to decide while just grinding to 4xx4 in sabers. Getting novice saber to a 4th level is not fun. trust me ![]()

I think that template would leave me with 6 points left if I wrote it down right. But I know I would be kiling myself with the low amount of force and regen rate. If I were to remove the Healing skills I could then Master one full tree. And have 13 points left I think. I would like to know tho how much will it effect me by not going Master Sabers. Can you make a good saber without the extra experimentation points granted by Master? How close to speed cap will I get with out the +25 at Master? Does the +25 accuracy at Master make that much of a difference? Also how well will I fare against a ranged profession with +60 to block vice the +85?
If there isn't that much of a difference between 0-0-4-4 and Master I may go with either the template I said above, or
0-0-4-4 Saber
Master Powers
4-0-0-4 Enhancement
4-0-0-0 Defender
If there is a big difference by getting Master Sabers I may go with
Master Sabers
4-0-4-0 Powers
4-0-0-4 Enhancement
4-0-0-0 Defender
and just give up my Force Choke

After adding it up on padawan.org, by using the top template where I take alittle from all 5 trees, I would have a force pool of 5725 and regen of 49. Which would be a difference of 1125 force and 14 regen by not doing the traditional 2.5 trees. How bad would that effect me? The regen dosen't seem like a bad deal. I can wait the few extra minutes to get back to full, but do any of you Jedi find that you completely drain your force in battle? Both PvE and PvP before the fight is over?

Well if you're not going to get Master LS, I think the best template for that is 4004. That's just me though. I have not played a jedi since the new publish so I do not know what 4004 or 0044 is like. (played one before publish 9). As it appears, you seem to want to dabble in the defender tree. It will make you better in PvE I would imagine and PvP also. However, the problem is, it takes away from your force choke which really implies dark jedi, and is better in RP'ing.
After seeing your choices I think you should get master sabers for sure. Somebody mentioned it gives you good defense as well as good offense so that's basically a must for everyone. (again I cannot confirm this, going off of what I read, although I have a friend who is really happy with 4004 LS/mEnhancer/mHealer). I have always felt if you're going to dabble in something you should just master it instead.
It is your template to choose but I would still recommend the master sabers/master powers/4004 enhancer. But that would better suit my playing style. Its entirely up to you. If I decide to go dark I will do that template, but im really into playing the role of a doctor/healer, so im going MSabers/MHealer/4004 enhancer. Enhancer for the force run2 + meditate so I can heal people then meditate to get my force regen'd faster
