Thread: Payoffs : How much do you charge and when do you offer it?

Preaty much as the title says.
How much do you charge for a pay off not to DB a jedi, when do you offer it, how do you offer it to them, and all that lot.
PersonallyI have a brief macro I will use from time to time to say that they have the option to pay me off and I wont DB them, the payment is up to them, but normal is min 150k and for each sucessful incap i do to them before they pay up without managing aDB then i add+50k to that cost. Though if they send a nice tell during the fight about this then i willdisarm after first incap and leave itup to them to pay.
Normally in this situation if its agreed before DBme and my target will cancel the bounty andjust to a /duel as it is easier, though of course sometimes the jedi have gone back on their words, but this is the few and far between.

Man, If they offer to pay me to not DB them I go for 500k-1mil right off the bat. If they're really that desperate not to fight they will pay it. You can pretty much charge whatever you want.

usualy i take 3 mil, as i dont really want te be bribed, but if they pay 3 mil...i guess i can take a bow and leave

Reading through the forum there seems to be alot of instances where a Jedi attempts to bribe before the DB. I plan to make a macro to respond to such a /tell: Pay me 1 million before I deathblow you. Obviously I would still do the db afterwards.

500k, 226k if they've been polite etc etc or if I feel sorry for them. Only offer it when they run and hide though, let em know its that or i'll stalk them for the next 3 days making sure they get no peace.

My BH won't take a payoff and my Jedi won't make one. I guess I'm just stubborn

used to be anything greater than the mission payout, but now that you cant tell...i'd say 300 to 500k would be reasonable enough for me.

So you charge 200k to leave them alone when you can get 226k @ deathblow?
umm..
Yeah im with the guy a few post up. 3 mil is my price firm your gonna be grinding a few more weeks longer than you want.

A BH offering to accept a payoff in return for dropping a mission extortion and is considered harassment....you do it enough, or even once to the wrong person,you will face consequences.
If the mark asks if you will accept a payout, then you can enter negotiations, but to show up and demand money not to kill them because you have their mission, again, is harassment.

I don't do it, but extortion is completely within reason for the profession.
edit: what would be wrong is to just go up to Jedi and claim you have their mission even though you don't. I had a jedi just outright give me money just because I looked at them funny. No I didn't give it back of course. I'm always open to paranoid donations.

Well as of yet i havnt been told im harassing people, and i go up to all jedi and just say pay me or i kill ya. Also as im not asking for to much money (i can make more money doing NPC bounty hunt missions due to high level rewards... well BH schems sell for 350k on chimy, and alot of CA/AA sell for several mil.) so im not in to BH Jedi hunting missions for the money, and most of the jedi who do pay me off will do it just because they are kinda in the same boat... they likea bit of friendly pvp in a while, but dont want to have to grind for a couple of hours to regain the xp they lost, and if 30 mins of missions for their alt can pay me off so i dont cost them several hours of time then they are happy.
Generally i only offer IF i seem to have a chance to win the fight or a good probability, though sometimes i will get a singleincap then call it a day on the guy, I will then ask them to pay me off, and if they dont i will sometimes just leave them to it, and if not they will beincap again and DB.

i dont bh for the money, i have like 40 mil in my bank i cant find anything good to spend on. If im killing a jedi and he starts telling me he'll pay me off i usually just ignore him and keep spamming adv critical shot. lol
