Due to hatred between jedi and BH, but there is a solution. Go to Mos Eisly and see how many noobs there are. THINK they are the future of this game, so if u want the game to become the old ways, teach the noobs of those ways, theyll listen. Dont tell them that "if u become a BH, dont have ANY jedi friends!" (sadly i have seen this happen), so dont abuse noobs, help them, they're the future.

However, I really DO wish I didn't have so much to complain about.

Star Wars have really always been about Jedi, so thats not really all that suprising. And definitely not when you have seent he comercials SOE have used to promote this game: Its about jedi too.

I dont have really anything against 9/10 going jedi. What I have a problem is, most of these new players will skip all other professions, and blink out jedi as their only goal, ignoring all the other great professions out there! My opinion have never been to limit jedi in any way in the game, but more like "forcing" people to try and stay in other professions for a while, rather then taking up one combat profession, only out of neccesity for getting jedi.

I loved being a Swordman. I think I stayed with that profession for like 6 months before I decided to continue on to jedi. And it was not without a tiny regret. I still miss Swordsman from time to time, but I love my jedi too, and I take great pleasure in playing him. But I think all those new players are loosing a great deal of the game, if they dont test out other professions before going jedi! I did! Ranged as Melee!
And that is something I hope SOW could do something with! So the players at least would test out some new professions before moving on to Jedi.

i disagree 100% ... i hate to sound insulting but maybe for the shallow people who fail to see its true depth star wars is about jedi ... to me jedi is but one aspect .. one part of the star wars universe ...

star wars for me is about galactic empires and noble rebellions .. star fighters .. star cruisers .. battleships .. curropt galactic officials .. smugglers .. information brokers ... fringe pilots ... small fledgling outer rim planet economies .. crime lords .. bounty hunters .. asassins ... jedi whove turned from the light .. jedi who uphold the light ... mandolorians ..cantinas ... alien races ... thieves ... murderers ... " i have the death sentence on 12 systems"

swoop gangs ... space pirates ... rogue fighter pilots ... rogue pirate armadas ...organized criminal space fleets .....corporate fleets ... shipyards .. weaponsmiths... droid engineers .. famous rebel generals .. famous imperial generals ... ace pilots ... ace ground vehicle operators .... ground army general.... imperial fleet admirals .. political prisoners .... neutral zones ... neutral planets ... galactic trade .. galactic economy ... bounty hunter guilds .... slave syndicates .. slaver guilds .. pilot guilds ....

death stars ... star desroyers ... x wings .. z 95's ... a wings .. y wings .. e wings .. v wings .. tie's ... dreadnaugts ...corelliangun ships .. corvettes ...kuayt yard freighters ... medical freighters .. space stations ....docking bays ... sand planets ... ice planets .. forest planets ... sea planets ... swamp planets ... rock planets ... grasslands planets .... asteroids ... space slugs ... mynocks ... dewbacks .. banthas ...rancors .... lost data plans ... coup de tas ...bothan spies .... expert geneticists ...clone armies .... war droids ....storm troopers .... scout troopers

get into the P&P SW game ... not to play mind you but to read the original short story ... or game pack content ...fan created content .. and youll see how far the universe has the potential to go...

the movies are for the casual fans .. which lucas centers on jedi to make the $$$ .... but those who cant see past jedi .. are the shallow thinkers which run themselves into walls where this game is concerned .. because they choose instant gratification over community and vairety ... instant gratification over depth ....

without therest of the star wars world to place jedi within ...... the ships, the seedy characters, the aliens .. the planets ... the empire and rebellion ...... would jedi even be interesting? take a light saber from a jedi and what do you have? a samurai? well then take a samurais enemies away and what do you have? nothing ....

what lures us to literature and story line similar to jedi .. .. along the lines of ancient dynamics such as bushido and samurai .. are the wars with those that oppose them ... the ninja .. the bounty hunter ... take the robbers away from a cop and robbers story what do you have? a boring egotistical jerk with a NY accent .... ( im from ny btw so no insult there)

my point is .. star wars never wars .. and never will be about jedi .. ... do not think the star wars universe is but a smallpart of jedi ... ... jedi .. will always be a smallpart of star wars .....

You always have to wonder if this was a good idea to make these two professions linked.

I mean think about it, BHs could have never known of this idea and they just make real hard NPC missons vs real player ones.

Jedi could have stayed at Perma death and maybe tefs etc....

With all that has happend I dont think this will ever be good. So far the best times were perma death days as far as Im concearned although I must admit there was 90% less jedi too so that might have a effect.

I think there is a missconception about BH's being there to prevent you from unlocking or controling the population. Think about it... if this was true then alot of people would have never unlocked. Slowing the grind is one thing, not stopping the unlock.

Please dont misunderstand me! I really agree with quite a lot you are saying, But for the average person out there, it is simply Lightsabers and force. And Starships and Stormtroopers. The rest is just story fill.

If you read all I say, I said I hoped that people would actually take their time to PLAY the game. Test other professions etc before eventually going jedi. I love my jedi, But I was not, and still are not blind for other professions out there! Thats why i got 4 subscriptions, so i can - in addition to my jedi - have other professions too!

There is no "teaching" the noobs. As of the release of the SWG Advertisement Commericals, Most (if not all) nw players already know what their future profession is. Jedi. Plan and simple. If you go take a poll in Mos Eisley, 7 out of 10 new players will give you this response. "Not sure, maybe I might be a <insert meaningless profession>, than I'm going to be a jedi!" **Note: Not TRY to be a jedi, he/she is gonna BE a jedi. Anyone remember this "Many will try but few will become jedi" or something like that?** Jedi is the only thing that drives the new players, there is no reeducating them.

What new players? I stood in Mos Eisley for 30 minutes last night next to Trehla and not one person visited. I was actually going to give a noob some money. I've decided I am going to create a human intelligence network. My network will have people in it that will befriend jedi. I want to know their tendencies before I fight. Of course, I came across no noobs.

Trehla is fairly busy on Starsider.

If you educate the 'noobs' and they tell you they're going to be Jedi... tell them 'great another Jedi to hunt!'... that should get the conversation going about bounties etc etc so they get educated on what to expect from the BH profession. I don't think new players understand the whole Jedi vs BH thing or what the purpose of the BH profession is and if they get their info from a Jedi it would most likely be 'they are here to grief us'.

I recently re-sub'd... luckily I knew sort of what I was doing or I would've been completely lost. The game is very complicated and new folks get frustrated really quickly. I spent over an hour and 50k in credits in gifts and stuff on ONE new guy. He had no idea about armor, food, how CLs worked, what the different stats on the weapons meant, etc etc...

If we help nooblers then maybe they'd see there are other things ouside of Jedi out there or maybe they'll stick around longer.

There are new people playing this game? This game has a really high turn over rate, anyone else noticed?
