Thread: Attacking while cloaked??

I just logged off in frustration... was overt and while I was standing at the starport terminal to leave, I got attacked.... by a jedi that was cloaked... He was still cloaked while attacking me.What is that?????

Nope... I should have gotten a SS.... but all I saw was the trails of the LS as he was attacking me.

there was an old exploit that allowed players to perma-cloak not sure if that is what it is. it had to do with crossing server boundaried while cloaked

Under normal circumstances, attacking will break cloak. There is appearantly a bug in certain circmstances where that won't happen. Its supposedly gettin fixed in 20, along with some other bugs with cloak (like the fact that cloaked jedi can be /targeted). Lets hope they all get fixed.
EDIT: And for the record, the Jedi I know (including myself) who have experienced this have done so completely unintentionally. Last time it happened to me, I just stopped attacking and buggered off till I could get rid of it (won't say what I did, since I don't wanna encourage use of the bug). I'm sure there are members of the community that have figured out how to reliably repro this and are exploiting it, but just know that not everyone is.

Indeed this is a bug. I hope thaey fix this one as well, since it also affects Jedi v Jedi combat.

There is a bug where sometimes you can attack or get on a bike while cloaked it seems to happen randomly and very rarely to me... it is not all rosey though as in this bugged state you CAN take damage... fount that out the hard way running through a group of high level mobs.

Of course its not gonna work how its supposed to. Its SOE dont forget. What is that anyway? Its like giving the golden key to starport ganking. Like Jedi werent getting a bad enough reputation, now they sneak around like wraiths and decide if its in their interest to attack, and if not, just hide until it is. Its like a 13 yr old came up with that one. God the devs suck so bad.

Dude im a BH and have been since i started. Believe me i know all about gimped. Not as much as a smuggler or commando, but quite a bit.

Kind of funny then that you'd complain about someone else having the luxury of deciding when and when not to gank someone

Really now, if that advantage were taken away, along with the group hunt being taken out next publish, what would be left for you guys to cry about? Dont worry though, i bet pub 21 will give system messages when a BH is near. FR3 ftw!
