Thread: MBH MRifl + cloak

Seems like another case of them solving a non-existant problem. Makes no difference to me if jedi want to shoot at me with a rifle, their speed and accuracy is terrible with one. And even if they do change it, this won't prevent the tactic he's talking about. Just put the rifle away and cloak, equip the rifle to decloak and fire, unequip the rifle again, etc.
The accuracy and speed reply: the temp would be MBH MR (then 6 in fs to included spd and acc) and force powers x4xx

Oh no, sorry anarchic, I wasn't disagreeing with your proposed template. There was a comment about changing the system to where you couldn't use force powers while holding a non-LS weapon. I was just commenting thatI thought this would be a silly change.
As to MBH/Mrifles/Powers0400, it sounds like fun. The one thing I would keep in mind though, you're going to have a really small force pool, with really low force regen. Add to that I don't think you can wear armor and cloak. You might be able to cloak and then put your armor on, but it's going to make it a one time thing. You get your first strike, but you won't be able to recloak after that. The low force pool also means you won't be able to maintain your cloak in populated areas. So basically, it could be a fun template, but there are limitations.
Personally I'm looking at going with a bit more of a hybrid. MBH/Enhancer 4404/Powers0400. It won't be uber by any means given the low damage and lack of healing, but it's loaded with fun tricks. Force speed, suppression, force run, force armor, force drain, and cloak. It may not work as I've envisioned, but it sounds like fun. That would be my suggestion with your template too, do it because you think it will be fun and might help you get the drop on afew jedi, not because you expect to be uber.

You cannot perform any force actions while wearing armor, and after the next patch, you will not be able to perform any force actions unless you are de-armored and wielding a lightsaber.
not to mention the skill points just don't add up to be worth it.

Cloak to get close
remain cloaked while you aim take pyro then sniper-kd-startle-sniper .. then knee cap - adv critical head shot then if this does not kill jedi wait till jedigets to about 40 meters then cloak again repeat over and over and over.
Why not I mean cloak should be a hide and get unlimited first strikes right?
And to cloak when jedi is fighting mobs...and at 1/2 lifefirst strike kills
You are better off just sneaking up on the target with cover from Rifleman. Cover will not break when you start to fire your rifle, however, cloak will break immediately.

Just curious, even if they do implement such an asinine change, is there anything preventing you from alternating between a rifle and and LS as need be to use force powers? I mean at the moment I switch between weapons all the time in combat, it doesn't take up a combat round, so there's no drawback to having to do it. I'm just not sure why they're making this change in the first place. Jedi are useless with a rifle, and as you say, hybrid templates are anything but over-powered, so what's the point?
I understand that from the uber-combat perspective there are better ways to alot skill points than with a hybrid template. Heck, if I wanted to be uber I'd just go MBH/MCM like 75% of the BH population. But I've got all these SP tied up in FS skills, and I'll have an extra character to play with, might as well do something fun with the FS one.

I have said it before. Master bounty hunter with jedi skills is a fun template to play with. But, there is something people need to understand you just cant use jedi powers and wear armor. So whatever template you try to come up with that includes MBH uses 121 skill points plus 24 skill points for force sensitive leaves only 105 skill points for jedi only. Now you could get a whole sinlge mastery and then a little more or you could dabble and try to get the best complement for MBH which could be some powers for cloak, some enhancer for force speed and force run, force healand defender for armor and defense. Which leaves you with a weak jedi and a weak bounty hunter. A full template jedi will have no problem killing you as you wont have the same special attacks that a MBH rifleman will have not to mention unless you have master defender your armor will not stack up to a nonjedi BH.And as for having jedi healing you might as well have combat medic healing which is better and can be used while wearing armor. Using cloak to sneak up on a jedi isnt that great considering you already get first strike. You are better off just going out an grinding jedi like everyone else to a full template or going full BH without jedi.
As a side note I have thought about this for quite a while and I would like to know why the devs and full template jedi feel that everyone must go and grind their jedi for several months just so they can have the same characters all using the same sabers and all wearing the same clothes? Cannot use force powers while wearing armor??? The force is powerful enough to lift Xwings off the ground but soon as armor touches a jedi's body he loses all his connection to it? And now I hear that while holding a nonjedi weapon will result in no more force powers?? These are game balance rules to keep people from using nonjedi skills (which are easy to grind out now) into a template that could overpower someone who has spent 8 months for MLS MD. Which is just sad because I would love to see force enhanced BH running around and actually be feared by jedi knights. Sure a lightsaberis an awesome weapon but a pistol can be awesome aswell just because Obi Wan believes them to be barbaric doesnt make them less deadly or shunned by all other force users. Yes I wish I was Obi Wan but does that mean I have to grind my charcter to be a clone of him? This game has had so much potential to be really fun and cool yet too much time has been spent on issues of balance. When it appears that these issues come from whining BH or whining jedi and not players who actually care for the game to make it better.
To all the "wearing armor" reply
You can a toolbar macro set up to equip unequip armor
It really does not take that long to do

I would pay good money to see you equip or unequip armor while in combat
