Thread: Any BH's That consider themselves effective without CM in their Template?
I am but I dont fight Jedi post pub 21 ![]()
I think you have two choices:
1. MBH w/ MR and some basic medic
2. MBH/MCH
With #1 you dont have to have medic but if you dont you will need to kill your mark very quick (IE use a high power bomb droid, have a dam/speed cap rifle w/ a dam PuP, eat acc food, and use Ruby Biel and Stim Ds... It will all be about front loading all the damage when the Jedi isnt suspecting it....
However, if you want to go "toe to toe" you are going to have to have some CM.
I used to be a MBH/MCarbineer/Pistoleer 0404
The only thing that was wrong with my template was that I couldnt heal, so jedi couldnt out damage me, but the ability to heal is fairly vital, unless your a master at kiting. Kiting isnt too easy while your steering around trees, hills, or dangerous animals, as well as managing action and keeping fair distance and a good eye on your target. If you get too far, they will run the opposite direction and loose you, if you are too close, they usually root you and start saber throwing if you counter with a root also. Disarming shot was a plus since carbineer has no delay shot of any kind, but carbineer has far better snaring abilities and the most damaging ranged knock down in game. Rifleman have a better shot at a lone wolf template that has no healing, because of the sneaking abilities of rifleman that allow them superb ambushing abilities and the range, that comes with it naturally since weilding a rifle makes you slower. I used to think that accuracy was all-important, but healing is alot better, unless you have so much of an offensive ability that you can take out your target while they are still trying to recover from the sudden surprise of the attack.
i do fine with my jedi hunting..
i am a master bounty hunter/master riflemen/master marksmen with 0003 pistols.. i have over 350 accuracy and 170 speed.. and i am not capped on any of the ca's, aa's yet..
i like to use the ruby beil stim d combo.. i have ruby beil that is 10 filling.. so i can use 10 of those in a fight..also a zabby so i use /vit to gain some health and action bonus..
i rather enjoy my toon then follow everyone else to the cm line..

I forgot to factor in the stats on the weapon itself, my bad. Like I said, I wasn't at all calling BS, I was just wondering how those numbers came up. Thanks for letting me know.
ehh no problem.. i love the templete because it is hard to beat the accuracy and the speed.. the damage on my hlc is 1144 wth a moded speed of 1.18... range is 64 and the sac is 70(power up).. the thing just rocks.. but i also have a ld-1 that is close on stats...
the reason i went 0003 pistol instead of 0300 is for the stopping shot.. nothing like rooting a jedi at 60 meters and watching as i just unload on him.. then kd him and snare him as i get up and kite him.. the templete does great in pvp and pve.. i wont change it anytime soon
I have to admit that I have about 80 million in my armor though. That includes attachments, slices and ADKs. But it's not energy layered. It's 6540 En. and Kin. So... not sure what to tell you except that... being a BH doesn't mean you fly up to your mark, store your bike and go toe to toe. You can probably do that w/ the CM template, but you don't have to. Wait until you see them dueling or grinding. Then take them out.
In conclusion... CM is great. It helps your template. But YOU CAN hunt Jedi w/ out it. I do it. And you actually have to be more skilled to do it w/out CM. I rarely loose, but I have a hard time keeping Jedi from getting away. Paralyze would be good.
I've done alright for myself as a MBH/Mrifle/Pistoleer 003 (no medic, too many FS skills). I've killed a few full templates, but all of my full template kills have required catching the jedi in a disadvantageous position. Not necessarily when they were low on health, but usually somewhere they can't cloak, or where they have other Mobs to deal with as well.
Basically, it seems that for PvP, some healing skills are essential. I wish that weren't the case, but there doesn't seem to be much that can be done about it. A lot of healing can be had for minimal skill point investment. What I would like to see happen is for healing to become a dedicated combat role. Instead of having a CM4000 being just as effective at healing as a MCM, MCM should gain a significant advantage at healing. But even at that, the fact that CM is just as effective as a Master Doctor seems absurd. CMs should trade off some of their healing ability for their offensive abilities.
That's getting away from the point though. To be an effective BH without healing you just need to acknowledge your limitations. Understand that if the fight lasts longer than 5-10 minutes, you're likely going to lose. You need to provide enough offensive pressure to keep your mark on the defensive for the duration of the fight if you are going to win. You also need to control the pace of the fight. Strike hard, strike fast, and don't give your mark a chance to fight back. If you ever end up on the defensive, you will likely lose. It's very difficult to kill a jedi without first running down their force, but it can be done. Just choose your moment to strike wisely, and hope for a little luck and you should be alright.
Master BH
Master Rifleman
Carbineer 4/0/4/0
Combat Prowress 0/4/0/0
I do fine. You just need good food, doc buffs and High powered Stim D's.
