I use to have a DB macro... but it took a valueable slot in my toolbar.... and it's just as easy to NOT use a macro.

I use Star Wars classic controls layout, so, not sure if this works in modeless, but just hit the tilde key (brings up radial menu) and then hit the 1 key (first option is DB). so it's like this...... "~"+"1"

I made a macro that just says /deathblow and then I hotkeyed that to a key on my numpad. Its much easier to slap that than to change to another hotbar and find the key. You still have to wait on the timer, but anything that gets around that is probably an exploit that will get you banned.
