I am a jedi yes, but I would like to make my alt a bh. I dont want to hunt jedi really, but i would like to take down npc's for their loot. So I was curious if MBH/Carbineer is a valid temp these days. I have a proton carbine that I wanna get sliced, and my toon right now has master carb. I checked the stats as of right now and it said my mod dps was like 516 unsliced. So i thought what if i became a bh with that and wanted to know some thoughts. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

MBH MCarb CM4000 works like a charm for NPCs. Never had any problems with any mark.

It's not the greatest of Jedi huntin' templates, but you can put up a pretty good fight and win a few along the way as well.

I used to be MBH, MCarbs, Pistols 0404. I dropped Carbines and regrinded to MCM to replace it. I like MCM much more than Carbs, but the template you are mentioning is a very good one, just need some stim d's and ruby.

The Proton Carb is yesterday's news. Do the Syren's quest and get the Special Ops Bola Carbine. Slice it for 3 in damage/ 1 in speed/ 1 in critical and you will have a carb that is well over 600 - 1000 damage. Screw the elemental damage because elemental damage is added at the end of the equation instead of multiplied all at once like a non-elemental weapon.

Carbs will get the job done, however I think a more viable choice is either rifleman or MCM, just in case you do decide to pvp.

Proton Carbine isn't that great, you can get Player crafted ones with nice tissue that are way better.

i'm master carbs/mbh/cm 4 0 0 0, its pretty good pvp if you have a good squad backing you up..one on one, not so great, but again its not really a dueling/hunting template

never, ever had any problems with any npc..well exept today when he aggro'd 4 kimo's on me...but whateva

and the proton carb is not all that great, like someone above me said the bola is good, but get a good elite/e11 mk II and they'll beat any proton any day of the week

Carbines is a great dueling template. Good against both ranged and melee, due to the good defenses, one of the best snares, and some high-damage specials.

I've been Master Carbineer/BH since launch, loved it the whole time. I've never seen a reason to change, as a result, I have some rather powerfull carbines, and some good attachments. No its not the best for PvP, though I have a theory that 12 carbineers would be undeafeatable in a group...... Its nice, because it has strong area attacks, I love(and hate) grinding xp with jehti, and hearing them say "Who the F*** is doing 1200's, while were doing 500's?" But of course, I always pull aggro

I dont think any straight melee profession can beat it in a fight, due to the snares, and KD's, makes kiting pretty easy. But, it only has a 50m range, so you cant sit out of range and snipe, speed and accurecy tapes are realitivly cheap, since theres low demand for them. And the action cost isnt bad.

vs NPC marks, its easy to kill even the boss marks, just duelist stance, and blind em, they miss 50% of the time, keep em KD'd as much as possible, and you only need medic 0/2/0/0 to do fine, as long as you have +20 or so healing effiency modded clothes, (20k from your local BE). Plus you get to wear battle armor.

As with anything, is a matter of what play style you perfer, you have enough SP to get 4 boxs in CM with it, or get stopping shot, from pistoleer for that extra root. Its up to you.

Im curious, I've tried tweaking my template to medic 0020 ( bacta shot is in nov and the third tree has the Healing Efficency). Why did ya chose Medic 0200? With the BE clothes how much were you healing for? You also mentioned its easy to kill the boss marks. When my medic skill was comparable to yours I found I was in a healing loop and didnt shoot as often as when I had CM4000. I'm not saying one is better than the other. However if you have managed a better technique then I'm curious to know.

My template is master carbs/mbh/SL 0-4-0-4 and I can solo the crazy bh npc bosses with 30k health. All I use is stims. I don't even bother with the ruby.

A grievance striker is also a good carbine due to 60m range. It also has a couple of mods on it as well. The only downside is the 100 SAC. I'm not sure if it takes a tier 3 damage slice, but if it does, it should be on par damage wise with the Special Ops Bola
