I have a feeling I am going to get flamed for this, but oh well. I decided to try out MBH/m. carbs/cm 4000 with the respec points I have not used. Well after using 10 driods, I finally found a target that was not "not online", and wasn't on Kashyyk (I refuse to buy RotW, why pay SOE for content that should be in the base game?). It turns out the jedi was the same faction as me, (I hadn't really noticed while taking the mission) and was a good friend of mine. So I jokingly tell him that I have his mission, and that I have to attack him. So I'm 30m away, and I fire an underhand shot. The jedi falls over, gets up, andI root him. I then fire advanced critical a few times, scatter shot, and just some more random attacks. Well even when I was using some of the best BH carbineer attacks on the jedi, I was only hitting him for about 200 damage. He actually went afk for a few minutes, and let me shoot at him. Oh and he was a full template by the way, if I didn't already mention. So what I am asking, is what am I doing wrong? I had no chance against him what-so-ever.

I have the exact same template as yours, aside from MBH (cl 77). Im working on that. I duel jedi all the time, and the only one i have killed so far was a padawan. They need to nerf jedi...and/or make BH's more powerful.

Don't punish the Dancers anymore. They've had enough grief. I'd suggest an Image Designer

Oh stop with the nerf crap. Find what you lacking and fix it. You are going to have a horrific time fighting a full template jedi in a toe to toe fight. I am sorry to say, but the cheap shot wins. Catch them incapped on the ground after a duel, or force meditating. Find a weakness then strike at it. Dont try to go 1v1 on a level field, because it wont work out well.

One last thing. Never, never, never send a /tell before the attack. That is a split second they have to start their macros. Once the defenses are up, you are screwed.

Thats the usal "I cant win becuase I cant play my temp good enough to kill someone so nerf them all or make me much better"

Learn your temp instead and when ull know it good enough you will win against your bounties or others . Also get your char to lvl80,it isa big diffrent between 77 and 80 in PvP

Here is my advice:

I am not a respec BH but I did just recently start doing Jedi missions.I am also a terrible PvP player. That being said I am 12-0 including FOUR 220K + Jedis.

How?

Simple.

1. I only attack if I have achieved complete and utter surprise.(meaning I can frontload a miminum of 2K-3K points of damage, getting a clean KD, followed up by a Torso , ADV Crti combo, followed by stopping shot , Torso, ADV crit combo all the meanwhile the pet is doing 50-150 points, this will assure over 3K of damage , and will guarantee the jedi to be in a defensive position after the root. You have forced him to think of only two things at this point, running or healing).

2. Only engage if the Jedi, in addition to being completely surprised, is not buffed or his force is down, or he is engaed by MOBS or creatures. Even if you achieve utter surprise like #1 above but the jedi is not in a tough spot (in other words he is buffed and not distracted or enegaed by other PvE activities) you can still lose dramatically even if you cause 3K of damage before reaction, so DON'T engage and follow this rule.

If you follow these two rules and drop the mission whenever you can not engage with these parameters, I promise you success after success. I have dropped 3 or 4 times as many missions as I have won but the results speak for themselves.

I do this with mediocore armor, using neutron pixie, and valarian brandy and a 69 level spider . I do have a GREAT krayted laser rifle but nothing really fancy. use your head more than your in game muscle and you will be succesful. I have never even had to heal in a fight yet and have only actually been hit a few times in the earlier missions.

Itwas stupid of me to suggest nerfing.

When i duel jedi, i always think, whats this going to be like when i get MBH and try to hunt them? Maybe i just lack a good, powerful weapon. Right now i have an E-11 that does 442-915. Is that any good? Should i look for a better weapon?

I really don't have all that much against respec BHs but what bothers me is that they know practically next to nothing about the profession and how to use the tools like the droids.

My toon in my sig was a commando 0040/master dancer before the CU and I dropped parts of dancer to master commando before the CU went live, then I dropped master marksman and dancer to respec to brawler 4000 and medic 4040 and ground out smuggler during and after the first 2x XP phase because I didn't have the adequet respec points to gain elite points then I respeced to TKM/Smuggler to see how I liked it for a couple days but my respec period ran out (didn't get warning on this toon) and had to use my token respec to go back to commando/smuggler/pistoleer 4000 then I dropped commando (due to disappointment in dev's lack of interest) to grind out MBH then dropped smuggler a few days ago to grind out the rest of pistoleer and picked up 0003 squad leader.

I have had 3 different toons all as BH (2 MBH, one was BH/TKM) since early 2004, I don't feel any more special than the newer BHs that grind their profession in a day and half that it took me 2+ months to do back then but jeez there are FAQs readily available for you to read.

I proton carb is a really easy loot item to get. That weapon is mean. It has cold elemental, and significant damage. I have a mine customized for speed and it is fast.

Just read my post above yours. You can use a regular weapon although a good one ehlps. Just remember that your biggest weapon is your brain. Outsmarting them is worth more than a great PvP template or a weapon.

Yeah go for the proton carb, maybe two tier 2 speed & damage slices or full damage slice and a tier 1 speed/crit, don't go for full speed since it's fast enough when you get around +60 general range speed granted from most of the ranged profs. I use a 2.0 406-916, 2.15 442-886 scatter and 2.3 452-940 DE-10 that does plenty good for me so your E11 should be OK.
