Thread: Y'know....IF they go with no-names on terminals...

And they're talking about removing the bounties (so you don't know how tough your opponent is, I suppose)....

I think they're missing the boat here. However, IF they take names from the terminals I'd make the following suggestions (some of which I know the dev's won't go for).

1) Faction and online status displayed on the terminal

2) Separate tab for player bounties (Hey, no names....that means that the obstruction of having to click refresh a billion times isn't needed anymore)

3) Grouping option of BH's on a target. Take your mish. Target a friendly BH. Radial option comes up "Invite to mission". The BH groups (must be ungrouped at the time) automatically. When the group breaks up or logs....mission goes away, so the BH's invited by group lose the mission.

4) The ability to exclude guildmates and/or people on your friends list from searches.

5) Change the payout structure. The people who command the highest bounties IRL aren't necessarily the toughest people bounties are being offered for. They're the WORST OFFENDERS. So change the payout to reflect their visibility. Yes, this means a virtually limitless possibility on the bounty. How then, Leatherneck, do you keep someone from taking a noob Jedi and having him afk macroing powers in your guild-hall for vis and have a friendly BH kill him and split the profit?

a) No names on the terminals. Although, I suppose you could put the BH term on the roof and keep waiting to see if you have a target.

b) Base exp loss on the BOUNTY, not the skill points. So yes, you could wrack up a 1mil credit bounty this way. And you could go through the tedious process of click..nope can't attack..click...nope can't attack...click...nope can't attack. You could go through those PITA processes and what do you get in the end? 500k credits and 500k exp loss. Woooo. 500k exp grind with noob skills after a potential several HOURS of click-click-click-click-

IF the dev's have implemented BH missions on Jedi to curb visability, this truly makes sense. The guy out in the middle of Endor's Moon grinding who had a NPC spawn on his lair won't take nearly as much of a hit as the guy who's been grinding in a group on Kashyyk all day for the last month. Plus it allows the BH's who are truly interested in their jobs as policemen and enforcing the rules of vis to target the worst offenders.

Discuss, flame, whatever.....

Oh, and I know. They have stated they don't want more than 1v1 on Jedi. Doesn't mean I think it's a good idea.

with no names on the terms, how are we supposed to find our mark on kashyyk?

Wow, I really like your point number 5.

Going by the impression that they are trying to cause Jedi to hide their powers as much as possible from intelligent races, this would make a lot of sense.

The jedi, be it master or padawan, who sits in theed dualing people, showing off his powers, ect would be a much higher profile target then a guy who is out in the middle of nowhere, and as you put it, had an unlucky spawn of NPC's.

I don't really understand 5b, but I like the initial idea of 5 and 5a. Very well thought out.

Honestly...I don't know. That's a serious flaw in the proposal. All I know is the dev's stated that names would be removed from terminals. Now I would think at some point you'd have to get a name. Maybe at the bio-sig "OH...yes...here we go. His real name is IpwntJoo Trashtalker."

I did just have an amusing thought on that though. Mebbe NPC wookie guides which would be unattackable by players. Could turn into an interesting mini-game. You get the sig and take it to a wookie hut. The wookie analyzes the sig and hands it off to one of his hunters, who starts heading toward the mark. Now you have to protect this wook from being killed (bump up the wookie's CL to match the terrain he'd be going through). If the wook dies, you have to go back to the bio-sig tent and get another one.

5b is to counter a potential exploit.

Say I'm a brand spanking new paddy with novice healer. I could get together with a BH buddy of mine (or a BH on a separate account) and intentionally wrack up a ton of vis to artificially inflate my price. When I have it high enough to cover my greed, I take the DB and split the cash.

Under the current system, you wouldn't really lose much exp. Under the proposal of 5b, you would lose exp in proportion to the bounty you've wracked up.

They better leave payouts up there. There is no way that Im searching Kashyyyk for an hour to find the mark is worth 50k.

Sounds all good, but they won't implement group BHing again.

You forget the reason the developers want to remove the names from the Bounty Hunter terminals. Its because they want to change the BH/Jedi fight to a one on one battle. That means one Jedi andone Bounty hunter.

Bounty hunters will not need to group with other players if they continue in the direction of one on one bounty missions. Think about it.
