Thread: New Master BH here (respec) need equipment help
Oh and...
3) I know pre-CU they had attachments to add to the weapons (grip/scope/whatever). Are they still viable?
4) Cybernetic Arms? What kind should I get for my rifleman/BH?
5) I also have Combat Medic... I heard something about shirts or something? Can anyone help me?
Any responses would be awesome.

Hey all, I was previously a Master Commando but have since respecced to Master Bounty Hunter, with enough get my Rifleman up to 3000 (I plan on being MBH/MR). I have a few questions as I am a little overwhelmed by the CU, and if you guys could give me a hand it would be very much appreciated. For now just equipment... I'll save BH tactics questions for later.
1) Armor - My pre CU armor just won't cut it any more. I assume I should go for a full set of composite armor? I don't really want factional armor. If so, what would be good stats for a great set of composite armor (especially for jedi hunting).
2) Weaponry - I suppose I need some good weaponry, and I am current CL 58 or so.
Rifles - I suppose most important, as I am going for Master Rifleman as well. I assume I should get either a great T21 or Advanced Laser Rifle or Proton Rifle? Not sure which of the three. What's the difference and what are good damage/speed for them each?
Carbines - Is this even necessary if I have a Rifle and pistol? If so, Proton Carbine?
Pistol - As with carbines, are they even necessary with my template? I suppose if the enemy gets close. So should I grab a High Capacity Scatter Pistol?
Armor = Recon
Weapons = For pistols look for 300ish - 800ish damage (un-pup and not sliced) with a SAC no more then 90 (ignore DPS). For Carbines you want 400ish - 900ish damage (un-pup and not sliced) with a SAC no more then 100 (ignore DPS). With rifles you want something with 500ish - 1000ish damage (un-pup and not sliced) with a SAC no more then 115 (ignore DPS).
Once you're in that range look for the lowest possible speed. Once all that is over and done with talk to a smuggle about getting the speed to cap and put the rest in damage (my preference anyhow).
Doctor buffs arent UbEr anymore and your main "buff" will be coming from chefs. Also make sure you got some good Stim Ds once you're at a CL that you can use them.
That is the very basics. Good luck man!
But why Recon rather than Assault? Doe a bounty hunter not use Assault Mitigation?
Anything about cybernetics for us (especially riflemen)?

Lightsabers are energy now, so recon mitigates better. I mentioned assault because to grind out your professions you'll be fighting mostly kinetic dealing enemies. As for cyber arms, I would personally just keep the armor on. Rifleman are slow with a rifle, so jedi will eventually catch up. when they do you can expect them to start attacking like crazy, which isn't good with ranged arms having something like 1200 resists.
Again though the first thing you should do is learn your profession. Like the jedi above suggested, respecs aren't really taken seriously, so if you know your profession you can at least hold that over them, whether you harnessed the respec or not.

Alright guys, thanks. Butwhat of the differences between T21/Advance Laser? Which would you suggest?

im a rather experianced bounty hunter, and what i would hunt in would be assault armor, and a high capacity scatter pistol. and a very good krayt T21 rifle. the rifle itself does 600-1200k damage, not sure on the pistol, think its 550-900 or 950, but now i use the same weapons, and ubese armor, but if your Imperial, i would suggest scout trooper, the set i bought today has 7000 protection against energy, plus my 2.5k energy PSG. and i use foods and drinks to keep my action up mostly becuase sadly my weapons drain that, and i would suggest ALOT of rubly bliel, lets you heal every 30 seconds insetad of 60, and a good stim D will usulay let you heal for around 1k of life. and other than the equipment its all about tactics tactics and more tactics. if you need help anytime contact me in game - Stephenn Kalogeropoulos
I dont think non-faction assualt can have 7000 engergy resist... I could be wrong.
On my server armor goes for 200k - 1mil + (for the faction stuff), I highly recommend the recon (Tantel) as you can usually get it cheap and it can give you 7000 energy resists which is the cap I beleive (I bought my 6800 energy res Tantel for 250k).
When hunting non-NPC I usually dont wear armor! Armor is too expensive to waste grinding unless you're establish and can afford that kind of expense. It is much cheaper to go to the MO on dant and just get into a grp for grinding and extra $$$. With a decent grp you should be good to go
PSG dont protect against Jedi though they do help for energy ranged attacks... Very handy when you become FS and do the village grind... Or if you are running faction missions...
Anyhow, I agree with everything else with the other people who responded (this post included).

no no, i said that the faction scout trooper i have has 7000 energy resistance, which is grand in my book, combine with some good heals tactics and stims and weapons and you would be all set, but i usualy like a good suit of ubese. lol only bad thing is sometimes you can tell when its a bounty hunter cause i ususly dont just see people wearing armor like ubese and tantel for kicks.
Very true assassin-sk. Which begs the questions:
- Why do some BH keep their Master Bounty Hunter tag up while hunting? That one I never understood. My tag is always on a novice profession. Always.
- Why do some BH parade around in their armor? Macros are our friends. While you cant equip armor in battle anymore, you can still equip it right *before* you attack. I always wear nub looking clothes when hunting
I dunno... I've ran a lot of non-BH missions on Kash and came across my fair share of Jedi grinding... So far I havent had one /duel request... Some BH need to use a little more common sense IMO.
