Thread: Anyone else notice......

that the NPC missions seem to have more of a "bugged" rate than before? Some may say that the rate hasn't changed, but I must have been lucky then. However, I am seeing more and more missions being bugged and uncompletable. I have had four today. They were all REALLY close to SP (like less than 2k away). Two were in water and the other two just vanished when I got into range, and I got the "mission incomplete" message. Anyone else notice this?

actually. yes. Ive gotten about 6 missions in houses or deep water ending in a 'Mission Incomplete' out of the last 10 I did. Really off-putting.

Yup, I've noticed this too. Seems to be about 1/3-1/2 of my missions are bugged, depending on the day. On top of that, it seems like a good portion of them that don't quite get off the map are about as far from a starport as possible, especially on planets like Endor and Dath. Call me lazy, but I just drop those missions, I'm not spending 30minutes driving outto find my mark just to find out he moved off the map, or isn't there, or is in a tree, or drops a jar of foraged bugs.

Also, is anyone else having a problem where the droids aren't updating until you're on top of the old waypoint? This is another reason I don't go after the marks that are way off int he corner of the map. When I get to the previous waypoint, if it isn't bugged, it updates to halfway back in the other direction.

I realize we probably shouldn't complain too much because the loot is still the best in the game, but I think I'd rather have the difficulty come from lower drop rates, or tougher marks, as opposed to a bugged system.

Since publish 22 i have dont about 40 NPC missions and have gotten 2 clear crystals. The rest of the stuff was smuggler slicing tools. I have not gotten ANY good loot. These BH missions are a crock of $hit. I dont even waste my time with them anymore.

1/2 of all my missions (no kidding) have been off the planet, on the sides or corneres of the map and always give me the "mission incomplete" when i get near. If the misisons aren't in the middle of the planet, i dont even TRY and fly out to the marks anymore.

Apparently, good loot will start at investigation 4, and boss marks will only be drawed at MBH.

There are tricks to "not" making your mission bug.

  1. If they are in a battlefield and you can see it as you head to them. Back off at least 500 meters and wait them to move.

  2. If they are in deep water and you know it as you head to them, Back off and wait for them to move.

  3. If they are off the edge of the map or very close too it... yadda yadda... back off and wait.

  4. If they are in a house or under it. Drag a critter close or have someone duel you and do an area attack (if possible). Most of the time you are already too close to back off and wait.

When you back off an wait, you NEED to have not come too close to allow them to spawn. If they do spawn, the won't move. Basicly, that means never getting within about 250 meters of them

Also, I've said this before too. When they do move, they almost ALWAYS head to the nearest starport and thier first jump is almost always about 2500 meters. So, place yourself between them and the nearest starport, staying about 2500 meters away. They'll jump and with any luck be VERY close to you.

Good luck.

I'm writing this as I wait for a spawn to move off the edge of the map. it take about 2-6 minutes. Sometimes it takes about 1 seeker droid, sometimes not.

That is a very helpful post, thanks a lot! However, do NPC missions always jump?

Yes.. as long as you don't get within 250 meters (safe is 500).

The only ones I can't get a fix for is the white dot commoners in original cities. Those ones, I've left the planet, moved 5k away, logged out for a day and they ALWAYS stay white dot commoners. Those ones are rare and just need to be dropped.

I wrote the above post while waiting for a mark 1.4k outside of Kaadara.. to the north.. in the water.

Let's see where it jumps.

It jumped... about 2.6k to the west, right on the shoreline. Had I not been "waiting" in Kaadara, it would have probably jumped there.

I had one do that once. It jumped right inside the city about 20 meters from the terms (under the huge building on the north side of them). Another BH let me fanshot them in a duel to pull the mark out of the building.

And... walla.... Just killed the thing on the shoreline.
