Thread: My first successful Jedi Hunt
The jedi I fought was a Jedi Knight. Now I'd read all the guides on here with full intention of heeding them; however the excitement of finally fighting a Jedi took over and I did so many things wrong.
First, I had plenty of Stims ready; though never tested them and in battled they didn't work. Second, I forgot to ready the /DB macro. Third, I flew headlong into a hunting party and couldn't target the Jedi fast enough....so his lightsaber came out pretty quick......and I was about 8m away from him.
So the battle ensues and I immediately hit him with an Underhand shot to knock him down.....followed that with a Torso Shot to get him bleeding, then ran like hell to get some range. I'm using a Pre-CU Republic Blaster that I can wield for some reason and does about 700 or more damage per shot. As I got range, I used a Root to stop him and followed that with and Adv. Critical shot. and Eye Shot. After the root wore off I used Confusion shot. This is when the saber throw caught me off guard and took half of my health bar away.....and on his second throw, gave me my first incap. Luckily my confusion shot had slowed him enough to where I could get back up....and as luck would have it......and I like to think it was my Scout skills.......a Hurrton Howler decided to attack the Jedi as well.......so now I have a friend. I again used Underhand to knock him down and eye shot really quick to add a little insult....then ran for ranged. Next, I tried to quickly use my Stims.......but to no avail......I had spiced up so my Health came back pretty quick.....but over the next course of battle he saber threw me for my second incap.....but decided to stop and try to deal with the Hurrton. So on my second chance to my fee I switched to my Carbine and unloaded everything I had.......his health was now down to about one more shot......and my first kill is in the books.......however with the lack of stims and my idiocy on forgetting to add the /deathblow macro.......he saber threw me down one last time and I died.
What ensued after this was shocking........as I cloned....he sent me a /tell and was so cool about it. "Nice Fight' You almost had me there. He asked if I was bottom feeding.....and when i told him his bounty was about 130K he was preasantly surprised and almost impressed. He actually agreed that our little duel was part of the game and kept him on his toes.......how cool is that? No flaming....no grieving.......just good clean excitement and actual fun in this game. My idiocy can only be explained in my 5 month hiatus from the game and lack of forethought.......but in the end....even though I died and my pre-CU blaster was destroyed from decay........I still had a great time.....and look forward to my next bounty.
Ah that rush of excitement when your seeker sets them in your sights it's great.
(pity you lost but you've identified your own mistakes)
Congrats on your first hunt may there be many more /salute
good job m8. now just get a few more skill boxes and you will be doing better. think part of the problem is you skill level doesnt allow for stim d use. also, find some ruby bleil, it definately will help you. Stim D's can heal for about 1200 damage every minute, and with Ruby, you can time it and get 2400 heal in back to back stims. Just gotta watch the full meter. That can get ya.

The problem with the stims is exactly as the post quoted states, you cant use Stim D's until you are level 60.
Gorik
What is the best way to regen action points? That's my second biggest weakness is I run through that in no time. Once I gain a few more levels to get Stim D's I think the healing problem will be corrected. I pretty much use the philosophy of keep the Jedi either rooted, slowed, or knocked down as much as possible....I mean the majority of the fight I had control. The only real attack that he used was saber throw......the first time I wasn't expecting it......the second I was just getting up from being incapped.......I have to say though that Knockdown recovery saved me.....because he did knock me down at one point.......but I was up and running in a flash. Oh by the way....do we still get combat droids? and are they even an asset? back in the day they worked.....but I've been out for a while.
I've also noticed a huge lack of artisans on Intrepid.....the economy is so inflated it's ridiculous.....I can only theorize it's that artisans all respeced to combat classes or something.....because finding good supplies is a rarity......I mean I go to tatooine and it's abandoned....whole cities just sitting idle......vendors long forgotten. Everyone is on Dantooine it seems or Kashyyyk now....I'm assuming that's because of Respec as well. I almost feel sorry for the new people starting because they have no middle of the road guys to help out.....like CL30-40...all the CL55-80+ are out soloing or taking on the Death Watch bunker or something. I try to help them when I can but mostly I just solo everything.

You said the jedi you fought was a knight, but only 130k. How is that possible? Or was it just a typo.
i think we use the term knight rather loosely here.

Well I honestly don't claim to know all the jedi ranks......he wasn't a padawan....he was a CL75 or higher.....I was so damned hyped I just flew in there and started blasting.....it's actually quite funny now that I look at it......My wife was watching and she got so excited she had to leave......she couldn't take the suspense......she just kept yelling shoot him.....is he winning.......get him......why does he have a pink lightsaber??? haha.
CL is determined differently then what you are thinking , I have maintained my CL since the first few days of padawan, while only being worth 30-45k during that time. Its all in how they build their template.
