Thread: Alpha Strike

I've geared my template towards offense only. (yeah I know, I'm bucking the trend). I'm a Master BH, Master Rifleman, Pistoleer 0404 Combat Prowless 4000. Yes, that's right, no med skills whatsoever. /shrug .

Anyway, I haven't done much Jedi hunting since I changed my template from Master Pistoleer to Master Rifleman. What kind of strategies do you guys use in order to ensure a good alpha strike. My problem has always been that when I get within 250m of a Jedi, I start getting tells. (I hate the radar screen). I know I can cover but crawling takes forever and the few times I've used it, well I didn't get within striking range before my mark moved off to greener pastures. My weapon of choice is a Trando Rifle. 2.35 speed 1184 damage 66 accuracy and 86 SAC. My character sheet accuracy is currently +331.

Make sure you get your marks name... then setup a cycling target macro... activate it when you get to 400m then just zoom in... with foods on... set a macro to dismount and drop pyro then open up the fire that will give you about the best element of surpise you can get.

How would I create a macro to dismount and store my barc...

Then how would I create one for go prone, drink pyro, advance sniper shot ?

Thanks.

You could use something like:

/dismount;

/store speeder/barc; (whatever you have)

/macro targetjedi

And your target macro could go something like:

/target (jediname);

/macro targetjedi

The target macro work exceptionally well, unless, like i had last night, the Jedi was the mayor of his player city and ever public building was named after him. But otherwise, out in the wild, it works.

Thanks for saving me the effort to type that out heh...

Ill take the easy one seeing as you left it

Have your pyro on a toolbarPane you dont use... there are 6 of these to choose from i'll do my example using toolbarPane 2 and having the pyro in the slot for F1

/ui action toolbarPane01;

/ui action toolbarSlot00;

/ui action toolbarPane00;

/prone;

/pause 3;

/snipershot;

Oh no need to activate the target macro when you dismount activate it first and if your striking from range just have your datapad open ....double click to store while the warmup timer for sniper shot is taking place. pretty sure that will work works when I do duelist stance. I normally have my target macro working by the time I have their name from at least 500 metres and dont find it makes much impact on messing things up if you worry about that though put a /pause 1 in it.

I'd say have a friend with a multi-passenger vehicle pass within about 50m of the group and you bail out of the vehicle to attack. That frees you up for food prep/target, etc. while riding and prevents the target from knowing it's you on the way in. You just drop out of the vehicle and start shooting.

A bomb droid will also give you a little extra alpha strike boost.

I don't seem to get along well with bomb droids. I've practiced with them some on NPCs but when I go against a Jedi with them, for the most part they just don't work right. I use the same macro too, i almost have to stand ontop of the droid to get it to do anything.

Any time, pal

And send me your bomb droid macro, maybe I can figure out what's different. The macro I used to use worked every time.

Make sure you clone before youattack. If you cant heal, you better hope that target (Jedi) is a low level paddy with no jedi healing skills. In fact, try taking on a double elite boss NPC (35k ham CL 82 - 84) BH target, you will soon see that Stim D's with Ruby V just barely cuts it.

It's the same one you sent me. I think I'm bugged with droids. My probot rarely does what I tell it to. LOL
