Thread: Jamming Uplinks
Hello folks,
I know this has been posted before, just hoping to get some rock solid answers before I try it. Saw Hooey-Pooeys post about the INV branch, and it listed how to jam an uplink. I remember also reading about having a 4 person team to do this I.E. Bio-Engineer BH and 2 more. Any help on this would be appreciated. I am currently halfway thru INV 3 (My last tree for MBH) and was just wondering if anyone does this??
Before I log I would like to say thanks to this board. I am real close to MBH and don't want to play any other class. The information and humor on this board has kept me grinding away for the title of Mastr Bounty Hunter. Thanks for any help

yeah with all the effort and time it takes to jam an uplink its not worth it.at level 3 in investigation you could easily get the 1k xp by just killing three marks.

What you would need is a player base of the opposing faction and it vulnerability window. During that time, go overt, go to the uplink terminal and use the radial menu. Select Jam Uplink. You will then play a game of high/low to "narrow the band". You have to do this twice. Once you are successful you will get an onscreen message that Uplink has been jammed and be awarded (when I did it) 1000 Investigation XP.
Considering you can make the same XP in 3 or 4 missions now and that there will be PC, NPC and possibly Turrets guarding the base, it doesn't make much sense to jam an Uplink solely for XP.
How does one find out the Window of vulnerbility for the base? I know the player placed ones are kept secret. But what about the GCW ones? Such as the Rebel one on Rori?
Because on TC it is bugged apparently...
I would like to do this once as well. Just to say I did it.
I can find a BE and a Smuggler from my Guild. The Commando, well I'd have to ask around.
The static bases are bugged. I have hit them overt and played with the uplink terminal with no luck. Player bases are almost as bad. The 2 hour window shifts and sometimes the terminals don't even spawn.
If you really want to blow up someone's base then I'd recommend hunting around the GCW forum for more info.
