Thread: knockdown
Finally filled my first pikeman box and grabbed this skill.
Lecepanine Dart(dizzy) + Knockdown = Pure Awesome.
The enemies I can take on and the xp I'm earning just took a huge jump. I recommend all novice pikemen pick this skill up ASAP.
By knockdown he means Polearmsweep1. Yes, it is the best soloing skill out there. Along with intimidate2, I can solo almost anything I run across. It's not always worth the time involved, but it's doable.
Definitely get Intermediate Defense first. I chose to master stances next and it has been a good decision. Speed is the key to getting XP in big groups, and that part of the tree is where its at.

Why not make the chance that knockdown works proportional to your skill with the weapon in hand and inversely proportional to the creatures knockdown defense?
High level mob could only be knocked down by people with high knockdown skill. If the devs think a mob should be very hard to knock down, they just give it lots of knockdown defense.
Its simple, effective and the code seems to be there already (more or less). Seems to make a whole lot more sense and be more managable than the blanket 50% or no spam or ... other fixes that they are/have/will try.
The more I think about it, the more I like it.

It seems that Defense vs. mods are currently useless for the most part. Hopefully if they actually get these working, they will re-evaluate the expense on our KD moves. I have a feeling they are going with the quick fix for now, and will retune things once they get the more complex skill mods working.
Not a knock down move... but we can dizzy and posture down, which when they get up is just as good
