i've read over the fact and i think i have a basic understanding of it. however just a n00b BE question. i got some dna samples of a bull rancor. assume i use those dna to make a durni. will i be waisting the samples since the creature is weak by nature or will it turn out the same as if i used to make a kimo?

The only thing affected by the Pet Skin is the minimum level. SWG BE - swgbe.mmospy.com - has all the minimum levels on it. But apart from setting a minimum, it has no affect on stats at all. Your Durni would be as powerful as a Kimogila. The only thing affected is the template movement speed... a Durni runs faster than a Kimogila... and for anyone that's hunted Kimo's, thats a good thing!
But stats wise, it wont make a bit of difference.
