Ok, besides looking cooler and larger as the skin tree goes up, do they really make a difference on the outcome of the pet? For instance, can I make a level 70 pet with the skin of a bearded jax that will be equal to the equivalent of a be level 70 pet with the same samples and the skin of a razor cat? basically will they be equal except in apperance..

Pet skins affect:
minimum level
movement speed
whether the pet is mountable
I think thats it...
so yes you could make a cl 70 and put it in a bearded jax

I made master BE this weekend (woot! finally!) Anyhow, I've been working on it for a while now and thought I had the whole BE thing down pretty well, but today I was reading the official SWG BE guide and saw the chapter on skins. I have never seen an option to add a skin. What's a skin? Where do we get them from? Is skin just a term used for something I'm already doing?
Sorry for the noob question, but I couldn't find a definate answer anywhere else.

skin is a term used for the actual form the clone takes. All other things being the same, a cloned durni and a cloned razor cat will have exactly the same stats. The only thing the skin affects are the speed, the minimum CL, and whether or not the animal is aggressive. Yes, this does mean that you can have a CL40 aggressive kimogila with the stats of a corellian butterfly.

I was making furniture for our guildhall not long after I got MBE and made a CL40 kimo from gnort dna that only had 400 HAM.
