So has any of the developers decided to do anything someday for the Bio-Engineer?

Or have they decided to keep making tents, and working on lightsaber models for everyone else?

I have been wondering if they will ever follow through on that post from a while ago, that stated they where planning to make most of the current Bio-Engineered pets into mounts.(last year)
Or the other statement that said they planed to increase the number of available templates including snakes and flying creatures including some special creatures that only bio-engineers can make.(also last year)

Just curious...

You know, becasue well the great little pictures telling about how certain people ride Sludge Panthers on Talus, and how the domesticated Gualama are common place mounts, still pops up now and again on my machine when I play.

And well I still dont see one snake or flying creature in my template repatoire.

oh well....I still dont see a level box either...or an actual listing of how the system works...just some players guide that states everything is random...

But anywise I had to post this...some people would like to know.

Well firstly we dont have a correspondant atm - and I'm guessing that we wont have for some time - not till after E3 (week beginning 17th at the earliest) I could be wrong and maybe I'm just a pessimist but things do get kinda hectic around this time of year.
As for us getting any 'attention' its unlikely that we'll be seeing any of the changes you want in the near future.
We have been told that the BE dev had been put in charge of the Jedi revamp and I'm not suprised at this at all - I think the BE revamp was so full of potential and its just a shamed that he was moved on before all the kinks could be worked out.

As for fliers and snakes I dont think we will get them any time soon and I hope we dont get them - with the strength of BE'ed pets currently a CH has very little reason to tame a wild creature - BE's can make most of the 'really cool' skins already, in the long run the more we take away from CH's the more we take away from ourselves - there is a continuing decline in the CH population and pet sales have really slumped in the past few months - we need to be encouraging more CH's not discouraging them and taking away the only unique things they have.

Mounts take time - thats why they were delayed from the game's release, a lot of the systems are in place for mounts but a lot of work still needs to be done for every new skeletal model that you want mounting - as well as new modelling and skinning of the mounted creatures.

Cu Pa and bantha were the big ones that people wanted when mounts were released though I think we all wished we could make white cu pa

If new mounts are wanted then I think there would have to be significant public demand to justify the allocation of resources. The Jedi revamp and the space expansion are taking up a lot of dev time so I dont expect to see new mounts till at least after the Jedi revamp in publishes 9 and 10.

SO I guess the one star I got, and the fact we have no corespondent anymore means no to all the questions.

By the way...if no one noticed we can pull out more levels of creatures now again....but with the odd AI...attacking with 3 will have only one of them getting damage and casuing damage.

oh well..

I guess Scaling and actual pallete colors are only going to be EQ things then.

Dont mind me, I stopped forum posting for a while...been busy playing FFXI.

Having reflected on the MCH situation for a great deal of time from both a MCH perceptive and a MBE one I feel the solution is:

1. Finish the combat re-balance

2. Take away pet decay in PvP for wild creatures only.

a. have BE pets take 2x the vitality loss when incapped in PvE

I use to be active in the CH forums and I read a lot of CH who felt that they should be able to find pets that are as good or close to as good as a BE pet... I even use to feel the same way...

However, that can **never** be. Why? Because any pet a MCH can have is going to be CL70 or under... Well any pet that is up to CL75 can be sampled... So if SOE adds in "better" wilds, by either increasing the stats of existing pets or adding new ones, BE creatures will only become more powerful as well.

The only sanctuary a CH has is that AOE specials dont x-fer over... Now I personally have a problem with that.. Mainly because AOE is the only real useful special a pet can have in PvP other then intimidate... If BE could add AOE specials that would be one way of giving more power to the CH...

Right now the only two AOE pets a MCH can have, that I can think of,are Bull Rancors or Screecher... One is uber rare to the point of not existing and the other is very rare.

Either SOE needs to increasethe spawns of these or let BE x-fer them in.

Anyhow, I think anything that can be found for free, UNLESS it is super super super rare, cannot be close to equal (let alone equal) to something that costs money.

So the solution, IMHO, isnt to give MCH access to pets that help diminish the eliteness of BE pets but rather:

1. Balance out the other classes so that MCH can be, skill point for skill point, more in line with other elite professions

2. Allow some advantage (not offensive/defensive) of using a wild pet.. for instance no decay in PvP and only normal in PvE.

Also, I should mention, that another reason MCH want to have their wild pets better is to bring back the "thrill of the hunt/tame".

That is a serious issue that needs to be addressed as, being a former MCH, I can empathize with. However I think the solution there should be CH mission terms.

These terms would give out missions to find and tame certain pets. At the MCH level you should be able to get an elite mission that would not count against your regular mission count... This elite mission should take an average of one month to complete...The reward should be a non-transferable pet that could be better then anything made... You should only be able to have one of these in your data pad at a time... Even though I am against giving better "wild" pets for CH to tame that would infringe upon BE pets, I feel this wouldnt be a conflict die to the fact it wouldnt be sellable and they could only have one.

These ideas would allow BE to still be the Master Pet Makers we should be while addressing **all** of the mainstream CH concerns that fall under this topic.
