I'd actually like to see them base a story arc on something like the Dark Trooper story line. BEs have to, I dunno, come up with many combinations of DNA templates and turn them in to faction NPCs. Bonuses accrue to each faction based on variety of recipes contributed, or sheer number, or both. Imperials unluck Dark Trooper (Marks 1 and 2 maybe) as faction perk, Rebs unlock an effective countermeasure weapon.
I know in the Dark Froces games it seemed more like weaponsmiths (Mof Rebus) and armorsmiths (whatever they were doing with that Phirk metal) were developing the Dark Trooper, but I think there was some implication that General Moc was a clone and that his DNA was used to enhance the Dark Trooper. Heck, give the other professions stuff to do too: surveyors find Phirk, crafters create Dark Trooper enhancements (or countermeasures) etc. Or maybe the secret research data is created as a result of this project, or the fifth jet pack part, or the Ewok adhesive, or whatever.
Not to say I'm not having fun with BE, just would like a bit more faction ooomph behind the profession.

I would love something like that too, and you mention like 3-4 of the things that I think would make the biggest difference to me in terms of keeping my continued interest, and I really wish there was an emphasis on creating new content like that rather than worrying so much about silly things like possible monopolies and vendor limits. 1) quests that are BE specific. 2) advancement beyond master. 3) samping data from humanoids. 4) making humanoid clones. Awesome, awesome, awesome stuff.

Its a very intriguing concept. I like that you'd have to do a quest of sorts. That quest should be very difficult and only available to masters.
I'm taking it that you'd have to sample DNA from NPC's in order to make people. I wouldn't make sense to craft a person from rancor DNA.
I don't like the part about sampling real players. Players change their professions so often. You sample a player after he ground through a combat profession and the next day he drops the skill and becomes an image designer or a musician or a..../shudder....a chef.
It would have to be very difficult to make NPC clones so they remain rare and of course, very valuable
Overall I love the idea.

Oh I just *love* the idea of sampling players. c'mon, that could be endless hours of entertainment right there. I'm gonna run out and take a dna sample of some of the most obnoxious l33t'est, chefs I can find, mash their dna together, make an NPC vendor out of them, dress it in a set of hawtpants, and teach it to shout obsceneties at people. C'mon, admit that this would be fun, lol.
Oh yes, and leave it to me to horribly twist Rancorpoker's dreams into an evil nightmare, muahahahaha.

I'd love to see this implemented. The only problem is that you'd need ranger to approach the aggressive types :/

This is fantasy folks, not a poll or a request:
A master Bio Engineer does a long quest that is profession related. One of the many things the BE has to do is find (pretend it is implemented) some secret research data. When the long list of requirements are met for the quest, the player hears strange music and a message pops up saying, "Congratulations, you've been accepted among the ranks of the best Bio Engineers in the galaxy. You've opened your Kaminoan Cloner Slot." You're sent an email to a trainer in the galaxy. Once you arrive, you train in a 0 SP skilltree where you are able to level to master. This slotted profession allows the BE to clone NPC's ranging from low level thugs to nightsisters. The cloning process would mimic the one we're all familiar with. At master, this character can go to Lok and sample the blood of Cas Vankoo, or to the reaches of Dathomir for a nightsister stalker. The clone deeds could be sold through a vendor like existing clones can. They would have to be grown and trained by a Kamino Cloner, and the npc would be stored in a data pad like faction pets are. In this case, however, this NPC can be used in pvp and pve. It would have HAM and specials depending on the DNA from the hosts. Kamino Cloners could also take DNA from real players. The quality of the DNA would depend on the player's profession, weapons, secondaries... To sample a real player, a popup will come up much like an ID window. The pricing negotiation can happen in this window. ONce the agreement is met, a sample is taken and placed in the cloner's inventory.
As I said, this is fantasy. I'd do this in a heartbeat if something like this were ever implemented.

Quoth Spazzers,

Sure, the guy you'd craft would be a builder.
"Yeah luv don't panic I'm just on my tea break." *scratches backside*

I love the idea as well. Give us some Profession specific items even a limited use schematic that takes NPC DNA and they lose vitatily quicker than pets and can't be vitality healed to limit numbers in that they are always dying off.

You want to try and sample a Nightsister?!?!?! Man you must be getting good at sampling Mutant Rancors if you want a tougher challenge
Nice idea though. I'm just bitter because a Nightsister killed me without warning last night. I ran into a group of enraged rancors, started running for my life thinking "How could this get worse", when bang, "Please select a clone centre".
We're gonna need a bigger needle.

Heehee, that's funny. I mean, I feel for you. And yes, I'm getting good at sampling MR's. Two sets of decayed BE clothing are due to the number of deaths from mutants. Now that I'm on my third set, I must be having great luck. Yes, master ranger would be a necessity to get blood from a nightsister.

Not nessisarily true. I used to have +5000 Nightsister faction points. I could run right up to them with no aggro. I've even got a screen shot of me with no armor on hugging a spell weaver. lol and if sampling npc is anything like sampling critters you shouldn't loose faction with a sucessful sample.
I love the idea of sampling players! I was actually thinking about that last night. Unfortunitly you'd probably have to get consent but if they made it just like sampling is now with the chance of killing or aggroing your target! lol that would rock! "nice jedi, down boy down!"
Shame BE's arn't more influential in the GCW, though we are needed to shut down a faction base.

Yeah, well good nightsister faction standing would be nice, however my toon has no combat to do anything about it. Anyhoo, in my original post, I mentioned (as part of the dream) that a menu would popup like an ID screen where the cloner and clonee could negotiate a price before the sampling takes place. If I could merge the defenses of a pistoleer/fencer stacker with the DNA from Cas Vankoo, a nightsister stalker, or even a jedi guardian toon, I'd be all for it.
