Forgive me for the subject

A recent post regarding Image Design by the art dev Ood_Bnar:

"While we were in San Diego for the motion capture shoot, we captured some image designing animations- so you'll actually look like you're doing something when you're fixing someone up. Kinda silly but I really like it- and we captured similar animations for tailors, chefs, droid engineers, and other professions. "

Notice the first part of that 'While we were in San Diego for the motion capture shoot'.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us! Posting again here in case you all missed it

A shame they won't be in the next big publish. I guess it takes awhile to get the data ready to work with the game.

Many posters have expessed concern about the lack of information regarding "the grind" which we were told long ago would be changed in a way that leveling would be fun and challenging as opposed to the pointless and boring treadmill that it is now (and seems that it will be in the future as well, judging by the information trickling in from TC and TC2)

However, I ran across this Q&A at SW Vault:

----------------------------------
Question: When would professions stop being a grind?

Kirk [Black] mentioned that when he joined, he noticed all the grinding and felt that there needed to be a better way to make professions happen. Part of his vision is incorporated into the Jedi revamp, where profession advancement will be done through work and quests, not just grinding some object or beating up on the same mob over and over. They are working on making profession advancement fun instead of "like work".
----------------------------------

You can find the full Q&A here: http://swvault.ign.com/articles/521/521475p1.html

Is there perhaps something coming that we're not yet seeing on TC or TC2? Or is he just blowing sunshine up our collective behinds?

Sounds kind of like what im asking for in my POLL topic. God I really hope so. If they deliver on this i'll be a happy camper until the space expansion gets here.

Thanks for pointing it out, I dropped my $.02 there

Continued grind == Kirk Black lied through his teeth.
Continued grind == discontinued accounts.

I hope they make it fun.

Yeah but some quests are better than nothing at all. Just wish they make more content like the Corvette. Its pretty awesome how you have to go all over the galaxy looking for information then when you find it you get to fly to this spaceship dungeon an accomplish a specific mission. Only real problems they had with the corvette is they made them all so damn hard. They should have made each mission a different difficulty. An the rewards for doing the Corvette were actually quite decent as well. Correllian Corvette is the type of content that can save this game.

Hey all...been playing a bit on TestCenter lately...namely TC2....of course Im a traitor there, not only an Imperial...but an uber TKM/Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/3-4-4-0 Fencer!! Lol...Escia and myself are this template just to have some fun (hey 13 months in the making...can use a break!)

Anyways, just like the other 500 players in the village...im here too trying to figure things out. And so far im rather impressed....the beginning quests were actually fun, as they spawned like that old Twilek girl being chased by stormtroopers of old...as well as unsure where it will lead hehe.

In any case, once you get to the village...well Im waiting for Escia tomarrow to do those....but the xp requirements for the FS prowress skillboxes I liked...greatly...

Each defense mod is +5 per box (+20 per tree), and each accuracy mod is +3 (+12 per tree)...as garvin as well as others have said in the past...FS Commandos may be the future....

Then I noticed the xp requirements....each tree is just like our HAR Tree....but it takes FS Xp (obvious). Fortunately, each FS XP = 30 Regular xp or 3 Combat xp.

So for just a single tree its going to take around 36,750,000 xp exactly....as well, you get 3,675,000 combat xp from this...which will also equal 1 tree (each tree is 1,225,000 FS xp).

I think the devs actually made a step in the right direction with this....unfortunately I also hear for every Holo profession you completed, you get TWO FREE TREES.

So to me its up in the air if FS Commandos actually will be the wave of the future....it can easily be done, and the prediction of where you need FS to compete in PvP will come true....that can be a possibility with so many people that have been doing Holos.

But if that was only a small population (that greatly affected the game), then theres good chance that FS in PvP won't be widespread, and only semi-rare....making the FS Commando dead...

In any case...the devs finally gave us a way to get rid of 13 months worth of commando xp, as well as unwanted xp! Heh...

Also...each prowress profession novice/master = 0 SP...each Skill = 1 SP....but to gain simply +12 Range Accuracy for nearly 37 million xp really worth it? Sometimes the +20 Ranged/Melee defense may be...who knows, this may not make a catastrohpic doom on PvP and Crafting like so many have predicted (for the sheer amount of grinding for a small gain...) I see this system really geared towards actually getting Jedi...but making it into a SW style quest (masking the grind! hehe) while giving a small reward to non-wannabe jedi pirates....

In any case....I strongly think the +30 FlamethrowerSpeed addition to Master box is a more worthwhile goal to push for (as well as a much easier gain! Unless..of course you mastered Holo Profs)

*prays that Commando and Marksman were Holo Profs*

we're pressing for +30 FT speed, not accuracy...

Hehe, the exp requirements are scary. I'm kinda scared to know that 900k Heavy Weapons EXP is only worth about 90k FS exp... meaning you'd have to master entire lines multiple times for even the lowest level boxes.

I dunno, it just seems to me (particularly for those who did a few holocrons) that we get to skip the fun part of the new system (the new quests to unlock) so that we can get right to the insane grinding.

Heh, although I'm personally shooting for master of hightened senses as well as luck and persuasion myself. May not be the most practical skills, but they're kinda cool in their own way.

PS...because of the xp exchange, I'm now also pushing to remove that nasty old 3K xp cap on our Heavy Weapons...
