I have a customer asking for non ch pet, with intimidate, kenetic resist, blast resist razor cat skin, minimum 2k ham. should be an easy pet to make as i make non ch rides with these stats all the time. well ive worked on this pet for 7 hours now and cant get it to non ch for some reason. dozens of combines that should equal his desired pet have turned out level 14-16 cats. my question is do the cat skins make the pet level increase as far as you know? equal dna put into cupa skin = cl 8 razorcat skin = cl 16 before i burn up more dna on this i thought i would see if this is known or maybe im just not trying hard enough. also i tried gurrcat and gurrecks with the same results always level 14-16. spats, cupa's, bantha's all go non ch with the same combines. Please dont ask for specific dna stats because ive literally used hundreds of dna samples on this pet. if it helps im using merek harvester/spinflap handmaiden for initial combine then doing generational work from there.

just use the generic non-ch pet recipe in the FAQ and slap on either a razor cat or gurrcat skin.

As you may already know, A Razor Cat has a minimum pet level of 10. THe only thing I can see that might be happening is your trying to throw resists on this pet that are causing it to edge slightly higher and higher.
I would say move away from the RC for the Non-CH pet and try a Gurrcat or a Gurreck. These both fall into min. class 5 and should be much easier for your combine.

I'm sure there's no problem using the recipe, but what level does it come out at? The original poster gets much higher results than he wants. In other skins, the same recipe gets him non-ch pets. do you get a non-ch from the VD/HP combo when you put it in a razor cat?

I just thought of something else I remember hearing. Someone said that cat skins might add a couple levels to the pet because they have a running speed mod that gets calculated. It was here on the forums, I just forgot who said it.

no no no, the skin is the final part of the equation. The skin only has a minimum level, which is 10, so it will only add levels if it is BELOW 10, and even then it will only add enough levels to reach cl10.

Not to sidetrack to much, but I was talking about higher level pets. It was rumored that the same recipe used on a razor cat will consistently make it a bit higher than say, a bantha. I think the examples were in the cl30-40 ranges. Wasn't it written in an older FAQ somewhere? I do remember seeing something on this. Perhaps this was very old information and was done before they revamped BE?

In my experience this is not the case. Try it. Get 10 samples from the same animal and build 2 identical templates (ones with no experimentation) and the same quality samples. I gurantee the levels will be identical.

vd/hp standard recipe doesnt suit my needs unfortunatly. i have to have intimidate in the mix as well as certain resists. i try to give my customers what they ask for not necissarily whats easy. im taking from the responses that cat skins normally dont increase cl so ill keep working on it.

You can replace the HP with sevorrt to get the intimidate, as for the resists well thats gonna cary from person to person but cat skins *shouldnt* increase level, if you're finding this with the recipe you're trying and you can reproduce it then send me a PM and I'll investigate.

Yes, I've made some spectacular gurrcats with the same CH recipe I use on bantha or cu pa. Voritor dasher x2 and huurton pup x3. I think with the base of 10, the razor will be very hard to make with any sort of raised resists.

I've never had a problem using the VD/HP recipe in all the cat skins...
