Hey hey, Iv just become novice today, and not for grinding reasons.
Iv been playing the game for about 7 months but creating good and interesting pets has always been beyond me, hell its alot more complex than i originally imagined.
I need help, iv looked all over for some good FAQ's but they only really explain how to grind the proffesion, and thats not what i want.
i spent the first few hours experimenting with the Vir Vir or whatever that rabbit is called Template, trying to make gradualy better ones using different samples.
I decided that grondas are pretty damn tough, and since i was on corellia (my home planet) I decided to sample alot of those for health, and for agression i shoved in a mottled wix.
In the end i managed to get a vir vir with alot of health, around 10% resists in kinetic and energy and stunning strike.
After that i tried to make a vir vir with a ranged attack, since i thought that would be pretty interesting, doing the exact same combination, apart from using a rogue bagarresette instead of a mottled wix, but it didnt work.
Anyway ill cut to the point, i need advice, alot of it, iv alot of questions, and i was hoping you guys could help me out.
Whats a could creature on corellia to sample for
A)HAM
B)resists
C)Specials
E)Agressiveness/attack
Also how can i get my vir vir (its my project) To have a ranged attack? And selective specials? Id like one with a knowdown/poison attack.
Thankyou, i hope to become a part of this community.

First make sure you have an understanding of the BE fundamentals. Once you understand those it will be much easier to ask questions and get answers.nI would suggest you start by reading the guide to Making a BE Pet Pt 1 By Mirrl
Darn link didn't work. The information is in the BioEngineer Guide & FAQ

Well, the trouble is that you are only able to get very low quality and low quality dna, and with that level or dna, getting characteristics to "stick" is probably very hit-or-miss. All I can really recommend for ranged is to sample creatures that have ranged attack and insert that dna into mental and psych, and for specials, put the samples with specials on them into psych and aggression. The hope for the best. It also will help if you can put the highest quality samples that you can get into those slots.
In terms of interesting low level dna on corellia. Gronda, like you said, will get you a decent amount of HAM and a little bit of kinetic resists. Also maybe grand wrixfor a similar purpose. For your ranged specials, you might try bageraset (intimidation and ranged).

thanks for the help, looks like i have a vague idea of what to do already
, Seems pretty simple really once you get your head around the idea. I just now need to understand the correct slots things need to go
