I've recently seen a lot of people saying you need mask scent for milking. Just wanted to point out the above command does work. You can harvest milk of the corpse. Not sure if it was a stealth fix but I certaintly didn't see it in any patch notes. To my knowledge this worked as of Pub 9(not sure about before).
This is the same thing as /harvest meat or /harvest hide

For those that dont know - you can milk the creature twice. Once while its still alive, and then kill it and /harvest milk.
Edit: I did not know this was considered to be an exploit. Can someone provide a link to the SOE official policy stating it is?

And for those who obviously do not know milking a creature 2x is exploiting and the Devs are writing tickets.

Wish I knew this back when I was collecting milk to make some multisacharide tetramate. Managed to get 5k and then it shifted the next day -_-

After seeing NancyJ post this *cough* exploit *cough* I tried it and wasn't too impressed by it's usefulness to be honest. When you /harvest you are getting it instead of bone/hide/meat, and the amount that you get seemed small relative to regular milking. Also, for the larger milkable animals like pikets and brackasets (the Dath ones, however you spell it) you generally end up having to deal with the whole herd, males and all just to get a real small milk harvest off of a couple of dead female corpses which turned out to be more trouble than it's worth (for me). I can see if someone doesn't have mask scent, or has extremely extremely good combat skills this might be useful, otherwise though I'd just recommend getting "milking" missions (get mission, milk, cancel mission, repeat...) which has proven to be more effecient for me.

The devs havent said anything to us about it being an exploit/unintended use or whatever, its been brought up on the corres forum a couple of times and we've they've not said anything at all.
Dont believe everything the CSR's tell you
Remember they often have to think on their feet and make stuff up on the fly - often they're just saying what they think you want to hear so you'll go away.
They've told BE's before now that the more powerful of our pets are 'cheating' and the BE and customer will both be punished - which isnt even slightly true.

This command is more useful for the scouts and rangers that collect milk to sell. Since they can get more milk per critter and therefroe earn more cash.

Still get more milk just getting two missions about 500m apart or more and bouncing back and forth than killing them.

Well next to watching paint dry, I always considered milking the mostboring thing in this game.
Its still a pain to harvest as on piket missions(9.4K variety, everything can be milked) I get 80-100ish if I'm not grouped and 50ish while grouped.
Obviously you have to have some sort of combat profession to make this useable. Crafters are probably a little different than hunters because if they need a certain resource they will get it. For a hunter, they have many options of basically making credits. Milking isn't even in the top 20 most of the time.
In the time it takes for me to milk 1 creature, I can kill one to two waves. I think this is fairly common for a lot of combat professions as well.
