OK, I have been a MBE for a while now. Posted several times in here. I have mostly kept to the mid lev pets, and some 2nd gen cloning so that I could work on my experimenting and DNA combinations.
Last night I finally decided to get some Mutant Rancor DNA. GRR. For the first hour I got nothing to show for it other than a great cardio workout. Running hills with pissed off 15 foot monster (needle still lodged in hisits hip)behind me was not what I consider fun. Eventually I got a decent technique down and managed to pull 12 decent samples with the last hour or so of my buffs.
On to the house. I have never used MR DNA before, so I decided just to mess around with the AA samples I had for starters.
MR, MR, Bull R, MH, MR
I maxed out my experimentation.
This resulted in a nice CL 78 Kimogila paperweight. hmm
Well my question is this. Should I have not experimented at all. If experimenting is good, should I only invest maybe one or two points somewhere. I would play around more with my VHQ samples but after all that work I would really be disappointed in ending up with another lawn decoration.
Please MBE community, your my only hope.

Well first things first.....a DNA combine with 3 MR's of any quality is a bit risky. Second, always document your DNA combine results. Third and last, over time, you will get an idea of where that Hardiness, Dexterity, and Intellect should be with a certain score of Power and Fierceness. Trying to get that elusive CL70 combination is more voodoo and witchcraft than BE science.....lol. Keep up the good work though because, you are on to something there. Try one less MR andmaybe a throw a BMBQ in thatAgreession slot.
Oh...and as far as running from big angry beasts, with broken needles sticking out of their arse, through the hills of Dath...that's just a trademark move of a good BE. Enjoy and Cheers!

try MR-MR-RY-RY-MR and avoid experimenting on aggression too much, should get cl70.

Hehe, well, I think the fact that you came up with a CL 78 answers your own questionsomewhat, lol. But seriously, 5MR samples, fully experimented yields something in the mid 80's CL-wise (so I'm told, I've never been fool enough to try that myself, lol). Most combines I've seen use either 2 MR samples, fully experimented, or 3 partially experimented. Go conservative, document your results, and then add experimentation points next time if you're too "low" is my best advice.

The nice thing about MR is the HAM and damage. The resists aren't that great and the specials aren't the prefect combo.
What I do with my MR is use it very carefully in a first gen of a several gen pet. The best DNA for phys is YMPW. Nice HAM and you get that 60% kin. Problem is the damageis weak. I've found that bile-drenched quenkers have the best special combo, blind/int, in the highest CL package. F.Grauls tend to have nice over all resists and HAM. The problem is they are all in the CL50s with low damage. You can get that up with the MR DNA.
Gen 1
YMPW,MR,MR,FG,BQ.
Use VHQ DNA in that quenker slot. You may need to go YMPW,MR,MR,BQ,BQ to get those specials to stick. Exp out aggression all the way, then balance out the HAM and psyc. If you want ranged go YMPW,MR,BQ,MR,BQ.
Gen 2
YMPW,FG,MR,Gen1,Gen1
This should get you in the high 50s for the Kin, you don't really need to hit a perfect 60. 56-59 is fine as you aren't wasting damage and to hits to a couple points on kin. This gets you a 12K HAM animal with 500ish damage, int/blind specials in a CL60ish package. You can go with more MR influence at the cost of that kin protection for a bit higher HAM and damage. You lose effective HAM to that higher HAM, so it isn't worth it. Also a 100 more points of damage won't be that much of a difference. The imporant thing is the to hit and speed mods to get those specials to land. You then have the perfect PvE tank. Doctor buff the con and stam for continued use without stiming.

Wow, you guys rock. /bowdown
Thank you very much for the advice, corrections, and recipes. This has been most helpful. Now that I have a pretty reliable method of collecting the DNA, I will definitely have to play with these combines some more.

My personal favorite MR combo is MR MR MR Rancor MR, ONLY experiment in Phy and Prow. Usually ends up as CL69. I havent played around with it too much though. You might be able to put one experimentation point into agression, to get CL70 even, but be careful, because aggression raised CL faster than anything else you can experiment up.
