Thread: Sell Your Profession To Me!

Hello, I'm getting a little bored of the PVP scene, nowadays its just a big DOT fest. I was thinking of going for a more PVE outlook, but wanted to craft also. Most of the other crafting profs relegate you to your house crafting all day..and are very demanding on lots and time. I was considering a BE/Swordsman template, so i can get my own resources etc. I would consider selling pets but my main trade would be Tissues for tailors and chefs.

My challenge to you is, make me believe i am making the right decision, force me out of my want for PVP!!

and yes i know if i am a BE i got Nyria to compete with on my server

Well... Depends on what you consider fun. If you love the excitement of watching a Mutant Rancor faint at the sight of your needle *evil laugh* BE is for you. If you hate math and complexity, its not.

Well, actually if you just make tissues, math and complexity don't come into play much. You will have to read the FAQ and the FA FAQ or find some kind of ultra cool way to ask basic crafting questions here. The tissue crafting system is pretty much the same as all the other crafting profs.

As for selling the BE profession. Well, if your just going to make tissues and not explore pets then I'd have to say BE is not worth it. Better to go swordsman/doc or swordsman/weaponsmith. At leat that way you could buff yourself or make your own weapons.

Willy-nilly I like making pets. They are kinda complex. And it takes a few stacks of notes to get good ones, but it's fun. The "/yell Force Choke" as the rancor goes boom from your sampling needle is hours of quality entertainment.

Well, I hate to be the bringer of bad new (no, wait, I'm evil so I love being the bringer of bad news, muahahaha) but becoming a tissue-making BE will "relegate you to your house crafting all day, andis very demanding on lots and time" just like the other crafting professions. It's the same spiel really. Spend a lot of your time running between harvesters and factories, hoarding tons and tons of the best materials you can find, then wishing you had twice as many lots as you have, and spending the rest of your time hunting and restocking your vendor (of if you don't have one, advertising your wares and delivering to customers). I'd say that the biggest difference between a BE tissue-maker and one of the other crafting professions is that the pay is a lot less (since we sell to "middle men" instead of the end customers) and our crafting system is a bit less complex (and thus less challenging/interesting/fun).

Almost all of the BE's that I've come across are one of two things: they are "alts" to a chef/tailor character, or they are a BE because they enjoy the unique pet making process.

So probably not worth it if i dont make pets then? Its just...theres hardly any CHs around to sell to - the only pets that really sell are lvl 10 mounts hehe... Maybe i'll be a swordsman/ranger and supple BE/Chef/AS alike

Thanks for thehelp

LOL... I was just going to sell it to him COD.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

If you want to have the "BE" to make the $$, you're looking on the wrong board...and moreover at the wrong profession. To clear things up, although there isn't much of a market for pets, most pet-making BE's do it because they find the system fun and challenging. to give you an idea, BE is kinda the "teaching" professtion of SWG(and as most BE's will tell you they often do end up teaching people). that is, we aren't in it for the money, we're in it because we enjoy what we do. If any of us wanted to make reallygood $$ we'd either all take up a dual-combat template or go chef and work hard to get lots and lots of $$. I'd have to agree though with most of the BE's here that if you aren't looking to make pets for funor have a chef or tailor alt that really needs your services, you're probably looking into the wrong profession.

Also i reinforce the 5-stars to whoever it was that said we can't sell our profession due to lack of vendor- always good for a laugh. Hate to "steal" it but it has to go on the "you know you're an swg bioengineer if" thread lol.

THis is such an easy sell. You have to realize that if you pick up master swordsman you are still effective in PvP. Maybe not stacked like many but you can still hold your own. This is my exact template and I picked up a lil bit of CH with the extra points just for fun. So you would get the best of all the world. You could craft/PVE/PVP at will. Woot. Good lukc to ya.

I sold very easy to make Lvl 10 mounts for 40k, I could stick 20-30 on a vendor and they would be gone in 4 days.

One of my favorite parts of BE is that you don't just have one type of product that you can sell, Armour smiths only sell Composite and maybe Ubese, Weaponsmiths only sell weapons etc. As a BE, you have HIgh level pets, Non CH pets, Decoration pets, Chef tissues, Tailor Tissues, Pet stims.

Taking BE for money.....*joins the rest of the BE community laughing*

Anyways,BE is my main profession. Has been since the start of my time with SWG (sad, aint it?). I love my profession cause of challenge and uniqueness of it. I love crawling after MRs for hours just to get enough dna for one pet order. I love planet hopping to get dna together for 20 level 10 pets to put on my vendor. I love trading and dealing with my selective chef/tailor customers (I only sell to polite people after all). I'm one of those odd people who don't have a combat profession. I'm sure alot of people are thinking...no combat? how does he make money, get meats, hides, ect., or whatever. Simple. I had combat skills, but I set myself up to be self sufficent and made a nice trade system. So I don't need combat. I have hunters and gatherers I pay or trade often with for meats, milk, ect. (our deals are mutual beneficial and cost me a lot less than trying to buy on bazaar or other people). I have my own harvesters (flora, water, and power) so I don't have to pay outragious prices there. I'm a happy and well organized business man. I run novice chef and tailor as well. Chefs and tailors seem to like to buy bio-tissues premade into sythetic clothes or additives (whats the deal with heavy additives being a master chef schem anyways?). I may not make millions and millions like the local armorsmith, but I make enough to pay my bills and have some running money. I enjoy seeing my products being used more than I enjoy seeing a big bank account, but thats just me.

Enjoy,
