After spending 3 hours on Dath getting 11 samples of mutant DNA, I decided to call it quits and head back to town. My original plan was to combine 2 bits mutant with 3 bits Bull Rancor DNA (to be collected later) but I couldnt resist trying all five mutant so out came the crafting droid.

Now I knew Mutants were CL75 so I would have to be careful with the combine. I basically chose the worst pair totals for the corresponding slots in the hope this would give me the lower CL I needed. For the first time (for me anyway) the light armour carried over without needing physical experimentation. The resists did take a hit though so I used 2 phys exp points to get them back. I then used 2 points in pysch as I had read this helped other people to lower CL during their experiments. I was paranoid about what the CL would be so I stopped experimenting.

I chose a Gurreck skin, made the creature and prayed I didnt get a crit fail. Luckily everything turned out ok and the CL was 70 as I had hoped. The final stats were:

CL70

H = 12758 A = 11286 M = 11304

Special Protections %:

Kinetic 45
Energy 60
Heat 100
Cold 100
Electricity 100

Effectiveness %:

Blast 25
Stun 25
Restraint 25
Acid 25

Attack speed 1.99
To Hit 0.66
Damage 540 - 550

Special attack Dizzy
No ranged
--------------

I know its not a spectacular creature in any one area, I know it doesnt really help us with the real fun part of BE (combining different creatures DNA etc.)but it shows what can be done with Mutant DNA at least...

I am a CH also so I get +70 mask scent from the explore line. Buy some +mask scent clothes and that takes you to +95, nearly as good as master scout.

Another thing to remember is you suffer a penalty to mask scent if you run but a bonus if you are prone. Going prone then taking the two minutes to crawl in is worth it in the end if you really want the samples.

Nice job ...

The Mutants have Light Armor - what happened to the Light Armor rating for your crafted pet?

was it lost during the crafting?

thx

Sorry forgot to list it under stats - yes it is Light AR. Strangely (maybe?), the light AR was present on the template before experimentation, that was the first time that has happened to my templates.

Sounds like you put experimentation points into psychology for the jax. Lowers the CL.

I noticed something strange
I used some dna from endor to make a nasty little jax 9k ham, strong poison, armor, and a ranged attack
This was all HQ and VHQ dna from a spiders now the CL for this jax was 22
Now I used the same dna but the AAQ and HQ to make a prugross (the walrus flee) and it had all the same stats but with slightly lower ham but was CL 32.
Did the body change the lvl? Can you put your monster rancor dna in a jax to lower the CL?
I'm going on memory here but the stats were very close to that. I'm going to dath tonight to make a Demon bunny. ill let you know if it works
