Thread: were can i find mutant rancors to sample??
. ive tried looking around for them but can never find them . 
West of northern outpost on dathomir. go out 2-3km and sweep, you will find a few nests. be prepared to die lots if you have no combat skills.
Once you see a nest, store your bike. at 65-70m, prone and crawl towards target. if they break mask scent, PAY ATTENTION, freeze and observe. if non of themaggro you, good. wait it out, mask scent again and crawl towards objective. Repeat where needed.
When you reach them sample them once at a time, if it fails, crawl to the next one. repat until you get a sample.
If it aggros you, what do you do? If the odds are in your favour (ie, you have burst run option) make like a bat out of hell and peace al the way. Hopefully you can save the nest from going crazy. If all else fails, the nest is a gonner anyway and your best bet is to run amongst them and away in hope that the one that aggros you is caught up in the frenzy or the other mutant rancors. One thing i do is take pot shots so i can harvest the weaker ones later. Wait it out, 1 or 2 will be left, keep our scent masked. New mutants may spawn too.
Repeat process. This will take quite some time and, you will die sometimes so dont carry anything with you which you arent prepared to insure or risk decay. Keep a droid too in case you come across any freak uber drops after harvesting the fallen. Storing items in droid seem to void the need for insurance as they dont decay.
